Jennifer Nassour, the former Mass GOP chair, said it would be the “end of the Republican party in Massachusetts” if Geoff Diehl defeats Gov. Charlie Baker in a potential primary election.
Nassour joined WBZ-TV political analyst Jon Keller to discuss the state of the Republican party in Massachusetts and other topics.
Nassour was critical of current Mass GOP chair Jim Lyons.
“You are all one family and you support your family. You see that over and over again with the Democratic party in Massachusetts. Even though they might battle it out and fight, they do support their own,” she said. “Currently, the Lyons Mass GOP is not doing that, is not supporting all of our candidates. There is no reason to fight with the most popular governor in the country.”
Baker has not yet announced if he plans to run for another term.

He’s talking out both sides of his mouth - per Rino usual.... You can’t primary but you have to be like democrats and supported the party candidate.....yet it’s the Rinos that go out and vote for Dems if their primary canidate doesn’t win.
Ending the RINO’s in the party is a good thing.
There comes a point where you realize that supporting your own is no different than playing for the other team.
As for the democrats, yes, they support their own. BUT they also maintain party discipline. You step out of line in the dem party and your head is on the floor. Whereas, in the GOP, stepping out of line is encouraged. Sabotaging the party gains one a gold medal.
She says this like it would be a bad thing.
The Republican Party as a force for the common good in America has been dying, and if there is any life to be salvaged so that the party may do something strong enough to be constructive, gangrenous members have to go. Better for the party to be a little more dead in Mass. for a while and for it to perhaps seek and use principles in Maine and NH, which, if they do well, will be imitated, than to let the party be entirely dead in New England.
That said, as someone from the west who went to school in NY in the 80’s, I doubt the existence of any effective Republican party east of the Hudson. James Buckley was the Last Hurrah, so far as I can tell.
Or as Biden called him, Charlie Parker. Parker is one of the biggest losers and nevertrump good riddens! Let’s go Brandon!
There’s a Republican party in Massachusetts?
If Baker’s the best we can do you support him however reluctantly. Cut your nose to spite your face-is that it?
Good point. Vote against the “Deep State”, Inside the Beltway Party, (doesn’t matter whether they call themselves Republicn or Democrat).
If the nose has cancerous polyps, then yes.
Cut out the cancer so that the rest of the body lives.
bush league chamber of commerce worshiping republiCAN’Ts have got to go...
A wholesale political slaughter of them.
No, the end of the GOP in Massachusetts was when the then Governor, Mitt Romney, decided he was going to unconstitutionally force Gay Marriage on the state.
Charlie Baker got 48% in ‘14 and won. Fast forward to 2018 he gets 66%. He should run for senate in ‘24. Sitting governor please. Pocahauntas is up. She kicked Dhiel’s rear ind in 18’.
My theory about why Massholes elect GOP RINO governors is that they are less enthusiastic about p*$$ing in their own water supply than p*$$ing in the nation’s water supply.
Timing is important for replacing these frauds.
So be it.
I lived there for 15 years. We held caucus meetings in a booth at Friendlies.
I dont even know who this guy is...but if he is primarying againt Charlie...he is worth a look.
Charlie’s mandates are stupid and not right.
Geoff Diehl ran for US Senate against Liz Warren.
He’s definitely a conservative. He’s attended the rallies I’ve attended. Unlike Baker, who never shows up to ANY republican gatherings that are to the right of Franklin Roosevelt.
Diehl likely won’t win as governor if nominated, but if he removes Baker, he’ll have performed a service.
I like Diehl. Go for the jugular!
