That is a complicated question. We can’t assume that cutting taxes will always lead to smaller deficits.

For instance, when Reagan took office in January 1981, the IRS was taking in $500 billion per year.
When Reagan left office in January 1989, the IRS was taking in $950 billion per year.
Reagan’s tax cuts increased economic growth.
The House was controlled by democrats for all of Reagan’s eight years, so any excessive deficits were caused by their huge social spending.

I always equate this to running a retail shop. If faced with slow sales, a rational person would consider having a sale, but a liberal would RAISE prices in a foolish attempt to make up the shortfall. They only think one-dimensionally, just like children. They can’t conceive of the fact that the most important factor is human nature, and that rational humans will make decisions based upon their own best interest. Of course, when faced with rational behavior that runs contrary to their dictatorial expectations, they simply try to use government force to deny people the right to make their own choices.
