In June Utah state Rep. Steve Christiansen visited the Arizona forensic audit center in Phoenix, Arizona. Christiansen was in Arizona on the basis of preserving election integrity in Utah.
Gateway Pundit reporter Jordan Conradson spoke with Rep. Christiansen at the time. President Trump won Utah by 20 points in the 2020 election.
On Thursday Rep. Christiansen resigned from the Utah legislature following recent attacks on his wife and family.
Yahoo reported:
Utah Rep. Steve Christiansen abruptly resigned from the state legislature on Thursday evening, writing obliquely to colleagues that the decision was motivated by “attacks” on his family after he pushed for an audit of the 2020 election results, despite no proof of fraud.
“While I expected, unfortunately, to be to be personally maligned and ridiculed as a public servant, I did not expect to see individuals attack my wife as they have, nor to see the significance of the impact of those attacks on her and our family. Primarily for that reason, it has become necessary to ‘pause,’ ” Christiansen, 60, wrote in the letter sent to the Speaker of the Utah House of Representatives.
The Republican — who has served in the legislature since January 2020 — further used the letter to resign from his position at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, writing, “I do not wish to infer that my views represent those of [the church.] I therefore believe it is best to retire from Church employment to avoid potential misunderstandings.”
According to his LinkedIn page, Christiansen served as director of Presiding Bishopric Projects at the church.

One word: Retaliation
When we’re constantly attacked, when does the war start?
I wanted to see braver Mormons.
The article mentions attacks on his wife and family but never describes them. Interesting that he also chose to leave his position in the Mormon Church. Wonder how much Mitt knows about the Big Steal?
In general, I agree with you.
But without knowing how his wife and family reacted, it is not fair to be harsh in our judgement.
It could be that the family was on the verge of breaking up or some mental problems. We don’t know.
However were I in his shoes I would have simply carried a few extra re-loads.
While I agree with you in principle, a man has to put his family first. This, of course, is why they go after the family. Because they know that we are moral people and place our families first. The same cannot be said of them.
We about reached the point however where that risk must be taken. They are coming after our families either way with CRT, trans filth, and the rest of their perverted agenda taking over the schools and society.
The attacks came from other Mormons. Many of them are as blood thirsty as any Islamist.
The attacks themselves are a response to cowardice. (as is most punching-right by libertarians) My Mormon friends have wanted the left to accept them since they went against same sex marriage in CA years ago.
Remember all those news stories about the three year investigation of Russian collusion of the Trump campaign which always added that same disclaimer despite no proof ?
I don't either, despite their enthusiastic examination of every piece of purported evidence. Why do you suppose that is?
War is hell.
When they put one of ours in the hospital, 10 of theirs need to go in the ground.
That’s not how wars are won. Plenty of German and Japanese kids got killed in WWII
“The attacks came from other Mormons. Many of them are as blood thirsty as any Islamist.”
From what I understand there is a division in the Church right now. Between those who “go along to get along” like Romney for increased Church business profits through government action, and those who stand on true faithful moral principles of right or wrong.
The Church is selling out and many are not happy about it. They should splinter off as their own “moral” sect. That would put a dent in the Church control, power, and profit...
Blogging angrily isn't going to restore our Nation. Given the level of apathy and non-participation of conservatives, there won't be a restoration. The left and their Brown Shirts have pretty much paved the way for your next government. You won't like it.
It sure is a one-sided conflict where the conservatives lost years ago.
Big talk. Nobody will do anything. Security over Liberty seems to be the conservative way.
That does tend to get the point across to even the most rabid commie. And definitely pacifies them.
Tune into “Music and the Spoken Word” on Youtube 0930 MST This morning and witness the the bloodthirsty attackers in action live.
