'Not Sittin' Here as Some Little Woman:' Looking Back at Hillary and Bill Clinton's 60 Minutes Interview
people ^ | 10/27/2021 | Virginia Chamlee

In 1992, Hillary Clinton wasn't yet a household name — and was still years away from her own trailblazing political career — but she was quickly getting familiar with the white hot spotlight cast by national politics.

Then the wife of a governor whose campaign for president was plagued with rumors of infidelity, she made her first major national media appearance in an attempt to tamp down the reports: a joint 60 Minutes interview with husband Bill Clinton

That interview was depicted in this week's episode of the FX drama Impeachment: American Crime Story, which retells the White House affair between Lewinsky (played by Beanie Feldstein) and President Clinton (Clive Owen) and his related scandals and how those in the president's inner circle — including his wife, played by Edie Falco — handled it.

Was this the one where she adopted a fake Arkie accent?

When Clinton was elected President I still remember Hillary’s statement to the public....”WE are the PRESIDENT!”

This a very, very good recreation of the events as I remember them. I of course have no idea what actually went on in the lawyer, client meetings but they seem plausible enough. It is being presented as a weekly serial of 90 minutes and is well worth the watch.

Clinton comes off as a real scumbag and Lewinski as a total naive moron.

And i remember during the campaign, she said how if you vote for Bill, you would get her too. She said it was a 2 for 1 blue plate special. Holy moley, only a narcissist could say something like that.

And we all recall how Bill appointed her to come up with Hillarycare, forerunner of Obamacare.

“Rumors of infidelity?”

The blue dress is the reason Monica Lewinsky is still alive.

Hillary was probably glad he did it; saved her from a task she probably hated.

Probably two of the most toxic people on the planet alive today. Add Barak Obama and you have a triumvirate of satanic level evil.

Ugh I was in high school when the Clintons first hit the scene (graduated in 95) and I had what I called a ‘bad read’ first time I saw them, like I knew they were just pure slime. Couldn’t understand why ppl old enough to be my parents were worshipping these two like they were God’s gift to politics. I also had a classmate that worshipped them as well (shouldn’t surprise you that he went on to become a lawyer) I just. don’t. get the hero worship and I guess I never will. My youngest son (22) said he got the same bad read from Hillary that I did. Right after the 2016 election he told me, ‘Mom you should have seen the Hillary supporters online when they realized she was losing, it was GLORIOUS’ Rmembering him saying that never fails to put a smile on my face :)

Clinton was a 43% plurality winner.
Back then, Democrats weren’t touting popular vote numbers as a sign of legitimacy.

Tammy Wynette was apologized to afterwards.
I really am inclined to believe that Gennifer Flowers
helped Bill Clinton by publishing incorrect facts in her
book that could be easily refuted. He was in New Hampshire
campaigning and was using the errors for campaign fodder.
He had help from editor Jack Moseley too on that issue.
Hillary the defender and enabler of Bill prowling around
had a purpose—paved the way for Trump in my opinion.

Lying about Flowers almost cost him his shot. Atty Gary Johnson lived next to Gennifer at Quapaw Towers. His security camera caught her door and on numerous occasions Clinton was seen entering her apartment with his own key. Had that video surfaced, he and the witch would have had to pack their bags and headed back to Arkansas.

Why didn’t it surface? Three thugs showed up at his door. They demanded the tape. After they got it, they smashed in his nasal cavity, fractured his collarbone, punctured his bladder and spleen, and left him for dead. Fortunately, his client Larry Nichols got there in time to call 911 and get him to the hospital.
