To: Texas Fossil
You are out of place.

How so? I'm realistic.

I'm an older American (not Rambo) who lives in Los Angeles. I still wear masks at the grocery, at the post office, and at other indoor places, because it's required. And they do fine people in L.A.

What should I do? Flaunt the law until I'm fined? Then refuse to pay the fine, and if the cops come to serve a warrant, barricade myself in my condo and shoot any police officer who tries to enter?

I’m 73. And I live in Texas, as did some of my ancestors since the Republic of Texas.

My family has owned and operated farms in this country since then.

I’ve been to California. I worked for a 100 year+ company for many years who was based in the Panhandle of Texas and covered 5 states. At 85 years the company sold due to issues with capital gains tax changes and elderly owners who’s children had no interest in continuing the business. The company survived the transition (capital structure issues), but 10 years later bought a similar company in CA. For 20 years after that the CA branch lost more money than the Texas branch made and as a result the company went bankrupt.

The year before the company folded the Texas branch of the company made 1 million bottom line. Poof, both are gone. (The owner of the company bought into the “greenie lie” and moved to CA, he was having his young children taught Mandarin Chinese. The year before the company folded, he bought $1 million dollars of intellectual property, nothing physical. Just trademarks and such.)

I cannot see how companies can survive in the business and regulatory environment of CA.

You have my sympathy.

I live among freedom lovers in Texas. I traveled for a living for 40 year, West and Midwest. Almost all of our customers were privately owned. I have no interest in leaving Texas again. (I did live in NM and OK at various points in life)

Evil people are running California. I could never live there. I know there are many good people who still live there. Had family members who lived in Whittier. They were staunch Republicans, they are all gone now.
