How's everyone doing this morning?
Oh, well, if dust gets in the house, so be it. It comes in anyway. Seeps in under the doors and around the windows. We don’t have great windows. We’ve thought about new ones, but Cha-Ching! I’d rather spend the money on something else. Anything else. LOL!
Yep. You’ll have branch debris and probably lots of dead leaves. With any luck the wind will blow the leaves on down the road. If we have any by the time the trees are bare, hubby mulches them into the lawn for protection and for future fertilizer.
Not sure about that spot. We have had so many oil wells, though, that the ground has to be riddled like swiss cheese.
Howdy, E.G.C. ((HUGZ))
Was the weather a little calmer for your outing yesterday? It looked mighty windy in your pix from Tuesday - - trees and grass leaning waaaaay over.
Your windows sound like ours, though it’s pollen that comes in more than dust.
Our leaves have just begun to turn so there aren’t many dead leaves yet. Some will get blown out but there’ll be primarily a lot of dead twigs and maybe a limb or two that will need to be picked up.
Your area is swiss-cheesed by oil wells and ours is by caves. We’ve had a few break in the area over the years leaving sink holes. One broke in the field across the road a few years ago while a bulldozer was doing some work and it took three weeks for them to get that bulldozer out of the hole.
I think one broke underneath the old house. I heard what I thought was a sonic boom and the house shook. The floors started doing weird stuff and that’s one of the reasons I pushed hard to move over to this house. No sink hole under the old house yet but we can see a sway in the roofline. Just a matter of time.
Here are the pics from Wichita Ridge yesterday.
Luvie will love this one:
Yes, I did wash him off after we got back from the trip. I was able to take a pic of him rolling over something.
And, yes he did enjoy the trip, just seems like he's sad in the picture but we did have a great time.
We'll see how things go today. We're under a Wind Advisory from 4 AM to 7 PM today.
Man, I hope you have your camera handy when that house goes. That’d make a heck of a video! I don’t blame you for wanting out of that time bomb! These earthquakes sort of sounded and felt like a sonic boom. That one today, though smaller and a bit farther away than the other two, felt stronger. Craziest thing.
Not many of our leaves have turned either, but when we had those high winds last week, tons of green ones were stripped from the limbs. Especially on the north side.
Glad to hear it wasn’t as wild yesterday but it sounds like it could be later today. We’re under a wind advisory, too, until early afternoon. Not sure about Friday yet.
Looks like Gizmo enjoyed himself. Rocks and rolling. LOL
I don’t think h looks sad in the one pic. He just looks like a tired pup. :-)
I doubt we’ll see the collapse when it happens so won’t get it on video. Just pix of the aftermath. And then it might not drop any more than it has. Who knows? But I AM glad to be out of there. The floor in the front living room is so warped you can’t help but stagger when walking through. I rarely go over there any more.
Weird that the quake today felt stronger. A lot depends on how deep or shallow they are.
Yeah, if the winds are strong enough they’ll strip plenty of live leaves. Just have to see how bad it gets here. I haven’t stepped outside to see if the wind’s started picking up yet. The first band of rain is on us now and another isn’t too far behind. The temperature went up a couple of degrees to 61.
Gotta!
How odd that the temperature is going up instead of down. It’s 50 here and going down more. Hubby turned the heater on. I don’t mind so much, but since this is only the 2nd time we’ve had to use it, it still smells kind of stinky.
I guess I’ll go now. That earthquake woke me up when I was dozing off for my nap, and of course, I couldn’t go back to sleep. Kept waiting for the other shoe to drop as it were.
I’m really glad you’re out of that place. The warped floor was just the tip of the iceberg over there. LOL! See ya tomo...no, I won’t. I nearly forgot. Have fun at the museum!
WooHoo, ya got it.
I was totally distracted and didn’t see it was there for the taking. LOL
It was a temporary rise. It’s back down to 59 where it’s been most of the night. I don’t think it’s supposed to drop much lower, though, so the heat isn’t on.
The wind’s starting to kick up but isn’t bad yet.
Darn quakes need to stop popping off during your naptime. LOL
I tried for years to get Hubby to move to this house but had no luck. Mother Nature decided to help, I guess. LOL It worked!
Catch ya down the road.
