Just two months ago, Florida was experiencing the worst COVID-19 surge in the United States.
The Sunshine State had the highest seven-day average of cases per day as well as the highest hospitalization rate in the country.
Despite these grim metrics, Governor Ron DeSantis did not issue new lockdowns, closures or stay-at-home orders, arguing that the spike was due to a seasonal pattern of the virus and urging residents to get vaccinated.

Don’t worry, JennysCool, that’s just the START of the shenanigans by gubmint types.
The latest BS making the rounds here in Calgary(grad) is that the new mayor wants to declare a ‘climate emergency’ in the city. I guess that means restrictions on vehicle usage, gas purchases, etc. And, of course a UUUGE CIVIC tax!
Inexplicably? No, its easily explainable. In July and August, Floridians spend more time indoors seeking to get out of the heat. The virus thrives indoors, and does not thrive outside (UV rays are kryptonite to the virus). Isn't this why the cold and flu season up north is in the winter? People up north hide out indoors during cold months. Same will happen with COVID. It'll thrive in the winter months up north, while southerners spend more time outside.
“Oh, and his liberal application of monoclonals stopped the disease in its tracts.“
So then we do have an alternative to the experimental vaccines. Which means we can remove the EUA, and stop all the mandates.
Meanwhile, yesterday they approved EUA for 5-11 yr olds. Absolute madness, gotta get it out there so we can see what the side effects will be (yes that was actually said)
I agree it is natural immunity.
There’s no one answer, but early stats were showing that ~80% of those who were testing positive, were the ones wearing masks, back when most people weren’t wearing masks, especially not in Florida. Discussions of those trends got drowned out quickly, but there was early proof that wearing a mask significantly increased your chance of testing positive.
“Which supports my theory that lockdowns and quarentines are bad policy. Let the disease burn itself out quickly before it has time to mutate.“
Yep and hummanity used to know this. Of course no one understands that flattening the curve does not lessen the deaths under the curve, it merely prolongs the virus.
Hospitals had a huge problem in the middle of August through about September 1
Thats not exactly what happened, but keep the narrative alive
The vaccines are not experimental
They are approved by the FDA > 18
I agree that kids do not need it and the EUA is worthless for 5 - 11
FLCCC states that vaccines are an important leg in the control of the pandemic alongside therapeutics. The superior therapeutic are monoclonals and should be exclusively used.
How’s the lunchroom cuisine at Langley these days?
I would not know, but how is the cuisine over at fake news and conspiracy theory institute?
I lived in Florida for over 40 years. It is hot in July and August. And June. And May. And September. And October.
Total BS to say that the surge in Florida was due to people escaping the heat indoors. Floridians stay indoors as much as possible for about 10 months out of the year.
Average timetable for vaccines pre covid, listed below.
Applied research/feasibility studies: variable, often many years
Preclinical and technology development: 2-4 yrs to clinical trials. 2-6 yrs thereafter
Clinical development phase 1: 1-2 yrs
Clinical development phase 2: 2 yrs
Clinical development phase 3: 2-3 yrs
Licensing: 1.5 yrs
If it wasn’t for the hurricane’s......I think I’d move to FL.
“Which brings up the question of why are private entities pressed into being govt agents?”
Do you know what can happen to an overburdened minimum wage convenience store clerk or a waitress if they screw up and sell cigarettes or alcohol to a minor (who may very well look like their 25 years old)? The precedent for this has already been set.
So, gasbag_dr, how are you enjoying those paychecks from Phizer/Moderna/and J&J???
Yes it is.
The Flu was gone for some strange reason. Explain it.
I just saw cali is where 33% of america’s unemployed folks reside at the moment.
Mind-blowing.
Really — can’t find a new insult. You continue to demonstrate your idiocy by stating something so stupid....but whatever. Have a good evening.
So according to you, we should not advance things quickly because of some artificially imposed timeline?
Manhattan Project ring a bell? How about the Apollo program?
