Any word on how she did on that inorganic chemistry test?

I think that is implied. I screwed up plenty of chemistry tests as an undergraduate, but I never came close to needing to leave college because of it.

I probably have just average intelligence and I’d most likely have been happier as a tradesman. But I came from a family of engineers, inventers and entrepreneurs. I felt if I didn’t get an engineering degree I’d be letting my parents down. I got one and had a good career. (Although, I hated almost every moment of it.)

My point is, if I hadn’t had the pressure of family with huge achievements I wouldn’t have gone to college. I have known a number of super smart people who grew up surrounded by family and friends who were uneducated, or hated education, or were criminals. Those people, despite being smarter than me in many aspects, were under achievers. Several times in my career I tried to pressure bright people who could definitely have done the work to aspire to a better job only to find they were self limited by their own low expectations. It didn’t matter how much I lauded their performance and capabilities.

In one of my former neighborhoods there were several black families. Two of them took in close relatives who had just gotten out of prison. One of the former felons was caught by the black deputy robbing the deputy’s house, which was NEXT DOOR. He’d been robbing houses in the neighborhood because...no car. The other family took in an uncle who raped the underage daughter in the house. (Fairly brutal, I understand.)

Nowhere in my family history has anyone gotten anything worse than a parking ticket. But listening to the blacks at work talk, they regularly had drug users, pushers, pimps, and all manner of other badly behaving people in the house. What does a black child growing up amongst that think about becoming a professional. (Unless of course, they mean hit man.)

Moving black kids into white neighborhoods will have limited effects as it’s who lives in the house at night that matters. Also, it’s very good for kids to have two parents...of opposite sexes. (Puts on helmet and retires to the bomb shelter.)

Oh wait...

Just as well. Guessing this was just an excuse. If she couldn’t handle inorganic chemistry she wasn’t going to make it through organic chemistry— much less become a doctor.

So... science was too hard for her? That’s what I’m hearing.

True, but she could have transferred to the gender studies program and gotten an excellent job with the fedgov.....

Now will Harvard staff and executives trample themselves in agreement with her since race was mentioned?

Gosh I know just how she feels. I sit and watch a CNN video and all this propaganda and lies ooze out of my computer and into my soul and I’m like - this is a violent infectious life form.

I experienced that catalyzed metabolism in my bloodstream as well.

She gets me.

Inorganic chemistry is not a class. It’s called basic chemistry. Acids and bases, solutions, ions, compounds, and measurement. Organic chemistry is chemistry that involves carbon and is very complicated. If this poor woman can’t handle basic chemistry she won’t make it in organic chemistry. She probably wasn’t doing well in the class and was on her way out so she took advantage of the situation to create Drama. More sad is that there are people of power who make these simple failings into news.

She was most likely going to flunk. She wasn't smart enough to reason her chemistry exam had nothing to do with her skin color or activism.

Typical....blame any one or every one for your personal failures.

Not likely at Harvard via her own credentials except for color.

So in her inorganic chemistry class she learned about inhalation of molecules of white supremacy? Guess I was absent that day from my class.

"I took an inorganic chemistry exam the same day."

inorganic is first year premed. She is not in Med School. Probably just can not hack science courses and blames it on the evil whitey.

She needs to immediately enter the "Bulwer Lytton Fiction Contest." She would be a sure-winner!
That day, my body inhaled molecules of white supremacy as they seeped out of my computer from that proctored Zoom room. They entered my bloodstream and catalyzed a metabolism that would allow for the invasion of my body by a violently infectious life form. [I have] chronic pain, caused by the perpetuation of lethally unjust practices and compounded by the silence and avoidance between myself and my educators when it comes to black women’s lives, would make its way through and onto neighboring cells within my physical being. I have chosen a path to justice and healing that is rooted in self-love and preservation."

"You've got a magnificent talent, there, miss!"
