AUSTIN, Texas — The Biden administration rejected Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s appeal that the federal government reimburse the state for millions of dollars spent responding to the border crisis.
In a letter sent Sunday, Federal Emergency Management Agency Administrator Deanne Criswell denied the Republican governor’s request that it reconsider its denial to approve the state’s request for an emergency declaration.
“After a thorough review of all the information contained in your initial request and appeal, we reaffirm our original findings that supplemental federal assistance under the Stafford Act is not warranted for this event. Therefore, I must inform you that your appeal for an emergency declaration is denied,” Criswell wrote, according to a copy of the letter shared with the Washington Examiner.

They should have said the migrants are coming because of climate change
If this isn’t tyranny, I don’t know what is.
Let’s Go Brandon!
I assume the federal government normally can’t be sued for not enforcing the law. Do citizens and states have do wait for an election to have any hope? If SCOTUS appointed a special master to run border enforcement what would happen?
Hey Texas, start shooting the invaders as soon as they cross the border and don’t turn around immediately and go back. Word would spread.
Perhaps it’s time to start shooting em. Bet THAT would get a “Brandon” response. /s
<><> In certain instances, private citizens can file lawsuits to enforce a statute. But this right may be limited by the statute itself or other federal laws.
<><> Some of a federal agency’s obligations may be non-discretionary, and if an agency fails to uphold those responsibilities, a citizen may be able to sue.
<><> If the federal government says that states can’t regulate hunting or fishing within their boundaries, for example, the states can sue because the federal government is interfering with the state’s constitutionally reserved sovereignty.
i’m waiting for the Army to come down to fight the TX-NG and escort the illegals across the border under army protection
Abbott.... for the border, call in the national, state guard, and/or any resources needed from the state level and SHUT. IT. DOWN. And then tell Biden he is in dereliction of duty and the feds can just shove their petulant whining up their collective pie holes!!!
They should load them up on buses and drop them off in DC. Let DC feed them
Post the TXNG on the border and not let anyone in.
Your assumption is correct. Law enforcement is inherently discretionary.
Elections won;t much change the open border of the US. It's been open since before Reagan, and the people in government are by and large "not nationalist." This is true of both parties.

Courts are not going to step into the role of law enforcement, but for talking purposes, if somebody did, they would not change current judicial policy relating to immigration - which is also open borders.

YOU KNOW WHAT YOU CAN DO.....

I do not believe that open borders is a popular policy among US citizens, but the government cares apparently cares only about what the rich and powerful want.
What is happening to texas is a disaster, but maybe they are arguing that FEMA is supposed to deal with natural disasters, not disasters caused by policy?
The commies have a deep hold on America........and FEMA.. Root them out and make paper tigers! Middle roaders will not be tolerated!
Middle of the RG River is the border.
I think when bodies start showing up in Gulf near mouth of river the Feds might take notice.
