The DSS texts are widely available online and you should easily be able to provide them. Thanks in advance.

I made that exact point to him in another post. They should be all over the internet. He can’t provide them. Evidently only Ken Johnson has the goods, and to get them you have to buy his books first. And, I’m going to step out on a limb and say that it’s not even in his books.

Three of my nieces have left the church because of its stand on abortion, gays, and the environment. I pray for them.

I’m glad someone did a survey about that. Within the past 18 years, I’ve attended 14 Lutheran churches. In about 12 of them, the majority of the members were at least 60. I think that, between 1972 & 2004, young Christians cared about the same things as older Christians. They wanted to hear pastors preach about the Bible. I’m surprised that, since then, a lot of young people want to hear pastors contradict the Bible.

IF you do the looking, through the PDF version linked for you, you will find that the DSS does reference what Ken has stated. Since Enoch is a part of the DSS, and Jesus even referenced Enoch, perhaps your data set can be updated. Have a blessed day.

You wrote: “You made a claim about a certain text and I asked you to provide the text. You were unable to do so.” I do not have it at my fingertips, so you dismiss the assertion as if I am trying to deceive you. We’re not getting off to a good start.

I’m sorry, but the only links you sent me were to Mr. Johnson’s video and his book. All I’m asking for is the purported text from Enoch/DSS scrolls about a rapture of Christian believers. I am not in a hurry, so don’t worry about not having it at your fingertips. I can wait. Either it is there or it isnt.

For what it’s worth, I have done extensive reading on the DSS and Enoch because they are fascinating and illuminating. I believe they do indicate that all of the Jews of the Second Temple period did not believe in a monolithic Judaism. It is also clear that that the Essenes had some unique beliefs about the coming Messiah that fit amazingly well with the Gospels and Paul’s writings (I recommend “Jesus and the Dead Sea Scrolls” by Dr. John Bergsma). But as far as a text from the DSS purporting a rapture of Christian believers, I cannot accept that unless someone who asserts this provides the text or texts. I think that is perfectly reasonable. Like I said, please take your time. If you find it, I am genuinely interested in seeing it. Thanks, and have a blessed day.

Here is an interview you may not have seen. If time is of the essence skip to minute 7. The name you say is not in the DSS is in Enoch (as part of the DSS) as Messiah, the Holy One of God, etc. https://duckduckgo.com/?q=Ken+Johnson+on+The+Book+of+Enoch&t=newext&atb=v286-1&iax=videos&ia=videos&iai=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3D7EhgxbZNdvE

The name you say is not in the DSS is in Enoch (as part of the DSS) as Messiah, the Holy One of God, etc.

I did not say that. In fact, various titles for the Messiah are all over the DSS and point to Jesus in intriguing ways. My ONLY issue, as I keep repeating, is the claim that the rapture of Christian believers is stated in the DSS or Enoch. That’s it.

Yeah, it’s a shame what has happened to kids these days, even in mostly conservative areas- thhe go to,schools and their teachers are mostly liberals, and fill their minds with mush unfortunately.

I’m glad I grew up in the Era that I did, however, I’m saddened by what is going on today and knowing it will affect the folks growing up in this Era negatively

MHG states that this passage is in the DSS.

“The Rapture will occur suddenly. And countless thousands will vanish from the earth. Swept up to heaven to live with Jesus and escape the torment of the Tribulation, the others will be left behind.” — The Dead Sea Scrolls

I have asked for independent verification of this specific quote, apart from Ken Johnson or anyone associated with Prophecy Watchers. He continues to stall. He went so far as to claim that he gave me “THREE” sources I could go to. Yet, he won’t produce them. A quote like this should be all over the interned and easily provable. There’s nothing, other than Ken Johnson’s word for it.

Bible-believing churches better get smart and start addressing these issues by showing WHY God is rightfully and logically against the ideologies and practices of leftists.

Just a reminder to all of us as to what happened to all the OT prophets, Jesus and the Apostles when you preach, repent and turn to God...............................

So what prompted you to write the fiollowing? ... "No, the DSS do NOT mention a "Rapture", in the "Enoch materials" or anywhere else, nor do they mention Christ.

My area has several former box stores converted into churches. They all, from what I’ve seen, tend to be like you describe. Meanwhile, the traditional white church with steeple congregations are floundering with stagnant or declining membership. Of course, many of these traditional churches refused to blame their ideology and teachings and insist that it can’t be a “real“ church unless it’s in a pretty white building with the steeple and not a former Best Buy.

I have not regularly attend a church service there since about 2005. For a few years after that I may be attended Christmas and Easter services, but haven’t even done that since about 2010. However, despite not attending a worship service in over 10 years and may be only entering the building once or twice in that timeframe they still consider me a “active“ participant and keep me on the email newsletter. I suspect there are lots more people like me they used to inflate their membership numbers.

It was in response to your original assertion:

In the Enoch materials found int he Dead Sea Scrolls, it is noted that the snatching away of the body of Christ Believers (the Rapture of the Body of Christ) is done by GOD so that the doubters have a chance to rethink their rejection of God’s Promises.

The DSS do not directly or prophetically mention Jesus Christ. They talk a lot about a coming Messiah (just as other sects of Jews did in the years just before the coming of Jesus), but Jesus is not mentioned, let alone Christians, let alone them being raptured. We can read that back into the texts and find it interesting that they had some insight into the expectation of a Messiah and his kingdom, but as none of it is inspired Scripture, it cannot be called prophetic in the sense Isaiah 53 and Daniel 7, for example, are prophetic. It is merely very interesting in that it gives us additional insight into the messianic expectation of the Jews in the Second Temple period.

Yes, my brother and I often say how fortunate we were to be raised the way we were and the times. So much freedom and good parenting. Even neighbors were unafraid to put you in line if you were up to no good. We knew ADULTS were in charge no matter where we were.

Riiiight. That's why the rainbow flag churches in my area are flourishing to such a tremendous degree, right? (Hint, they're not.)

As a parent, I'm honestly glad when a church puts a rainbow flag out front. I take it as a sign that the church in question is a haven for pedophiles -- sort of like the public schools.
