CAIRO (AP) — Military forces arrested Sudan’s acting prime minister and senior government officials Monday, disrupted internet access and blocked bridges in the capital Khartoum, the country’s information ministry said, describing the actions as a coup.

I will have to look more deeply into the situation, sine I haven’t followed the situation in Sudan since the split with South Sudan. It is a bit depressing, however, to assume that something that is alarming to the present administration must thereby be good news.
Is south Sudan the “good Sudan”....its complicated. South Sudan is “Christian” but the tribal allegiances are stronger than their Christian allegiance and the nation is in horrible shape.
This could get ‘interesting’ considering how Sudan is about to close off the Nile with a huge dam that is nearly complete.
Would that be the definition of an “insurrection”? Complete opposite of what happened on Jan 6.
I want to know if the current situation benefits China or not. Sudan is part of their Belt and Road effort, so China has an interest in this. I’m just not sure if they are happy right now.
