TOKYO -- Military helicopters took off from Chinese and Russian warships sailing near a Japanese island, according to the Ministry of Defense, days after a Sino-Russian naval passage through a chokepoint in Japan's north.

The latest incident took place around 4 a.m. Thursday about 50 km to 100 km southwest of Sumisu Island, part of the Izu archipelago stretching south of Tokyo off Japan's Pacific side. Two helicopters flew from frigates operated by China and Russia.

Japan scrambled Air Self-Defense Force fighter jets in response. The two helicopters returned to their respective frigates without violating Japanese airspace. Chinese and Russian warships did not enter Japanese territorial waters.

Once China seizes Taiwan the Japanese should get really nervous. There is no love lost between the two.

One of those violated countries should shoot down or at least scare the crap out of these incursion(ists). Then the perps would have to decide if it’s worth it to gamble on a response knowing what Biden might or might not do in response. Find out who’s gonna blink. I think Russia would blink. China doesn’t care. No respect for life if you have a billion people.

It doesn’t stop Israel.

They’re already pretty nervous and rightfully so....leaders over there aren’t sure Biden would act if necessary....and he’s given plenty of reasons why they don’t trust him.

The purported upcoming attack on Taiwan, is actually preparation by the Russians and Chinese to attack the US. They’ve said so publically in numerous commments. When/if you read the “Secret Speech of General Chi Haotian”, their long range plans are laid out in great detail. The speech was given 20+ years ago, and it is breathtaking for the evil mindset it displays. Moreover, many blocks of the foundation have already been laid. Long read, but worth every minute.

Japan is already armed. You should see the current status of their air, land, and sea forces.

Hmm, if memory and history serves me right, Japan whooped the sh*t out of China and Russia. Point being, whose to say it won’t happen again? /s

No expertise here, but they tend to produce excellent machinery so I’d think their stuff is good.

To put it in perspective here, the helos were about 30 miles from a small uninhabited Japanese island that is about 150 miles east of Japan proper.

Shooting down those would be a little crazy.

I think a better approach is to double what they do, and do the same exact thing, the same exact distances from the Chinese coast.
