Only way republicans can win presidency now is to win hearts and minds of many more people. Trump made a fatal error of judgement (probably the only one) by not saying “Americans, I feel your pain, China has sent us this covid virus to kill our magnificent economy, but I am going to protect you, and keep you safe the best I can”. Instead Trump said “this is just another flu and will go away when warm summer weather arrives”. I personally know people who switched votes to Biden who normally vote republican.
