Why are thousands of postal workers still unvaxxed? Exclusive: Jack Cashill visits an actual USPS facility to get the skinny about jab mandate

After spending several futile hours rummaging through media accounts and the United States Postal Service (USPS) website, I still had no answer to the question I set out to address: Are postal workers subject to a vaccine mandate?

Wanting the straight skinny, I decided not to call USPS headquarters but to visit a facility and talk to the workers loading and unloading mail.

To my good fortune I found a well-spoken, straightforward supervisor who told me, through his mask, what I wanted to know.

"We are encouraged to get vaccinated, but we do not face a vaccine mandate like the military does," he volunteered. "But," he added helpfully, "we do have an indoor mask mandate."

Two questions emerge from this encounter. The first is: Why are postal workers exempt from a mandate that is stripping other public service entities, including the military, of thousands of needed personnel?

Despite outsized (and absurdly well-documented) efforts to close the "vaccination gap," blacks and Hispanics remain relatively unvaxxed compared to whites and Asians.

The media's relentless repetition of what Biden memorably called the "Tuskegee Airmen" experiment may have made journalists feel virtuous, but it left many blacks feeling just scared. Liberalism works that way.

My suspicion is that the USPS will remain ever so quietly exempt from whatever OSHA dictates are finally approved. These are feathers the White House cannot afford to ruffle.

Sounds like someone is slow walking this with a lot sitting down in the meantime. Can the unions (yeah right!) fight this rule? WILL they fight it? So much for lining the pockets of the union big wigs with your dues eh?

There’s no slow walking. This is how the government works. It takes months to move anything. Egos are rampant in fedgov.

Perhaps because of the unions? Perhaps because they want the carriers of all their fraudulent mail-in ballots to still be around? Perhaps because postal workers apparently lean left?

If black people are the ethnic group least likely to go along with “suggestions” to get the jabs, then a lot of the postal workers would be unjabbed.

Pew Research in 2020:(latest complete data was from 2018)
“Efforts to shrink the Postal Service payroll would likely affect racial and ethnic minorities, women and veterans more than others.... Around a quarter (23%) of Postal Service workers are black, 11% are Hispanic and 7% are Asian. In contrast, black Americans make up 13% of the national workforce, Hispanics 17% and Asian Americans 6%.”

MY wife is a rural postal contractor. She said she would be shocked if anyone at the post office actually gave a crap about mandates and stuff.

I deliver mail. I will quit if mandated to take the shot. It would close the postal service down in our area. They don’t have enough supervisors to do the job. We have some who have been vaccinated. We are not allowed to strike but rumor has it that if mandates come there will be sick days used up by a lot of carriers.
