"We refuse to become the vaccination police for any government," the burger chain said
The West Coast-based burger chain In-N-Out was widely praised on social media after it was reported that the company refused to enforce a San Francisco, California vaccine mandate for customers that resulted in the city temporarily closing one of its locations.
The fast-food chain trended on Twitter Tuesday after the company told the city of San Francisco "we refuse to become the vaccination police for any government" and was closed temporarily by the city’s health department for not demanding customers show proof of vaccination against the coronavirus.
"RT if you just fell in love with In-N-Out!" Republican congressional candidate Robby Starbuck tweeted to his over 200,000 followers.

HOLD ON! You mean San Fran has a policy that you have to be fully vax to go through an In and Out drive thru? This is for CUSTOMERS?
I thought they were standing up against mandating their employees getting vaxxed.
I intended to go to In-N-Out today as a show of support. I stopped at one of their locations in Daly City, CA. The line there (which is normally quite long) was TWICE as long today. I didn’t have time to wait, but I hope to try again in a day or two.
S.F.’s lone In-N-Out (in the Fisherman’s Wharf tourist zone) doesn’t have a drive-thru. It’s walk-in only.
I think the drive through is open. This was about letting people go into the dining room. San Fran, New York, West Hollywood and maybe a few other cities have all made low wage restaurant workers become vaccine ID police. Horrible, horrible idea for so many reasons.
That particular location doesn't have a drive thru, it's only indoor seating and some outside tables. I've been there many times. It's across the street and down a bit from Fisherman's Wharf.
It's San Francisco, the city government is a bunch of totalitarian nutcases. What can you say?
You’re right. It is take out or delivery at that location for now.
That particular In-N-Out is near the wharf and is not a drive thru.
I won’t eat there because I won’t pay for parking to get a burger.
I usually go down to Burlingame and order at their drive thru...
Im In (and Out ;D)!
I ordered their gift card online from their store to give as a gift just to patronize them.
This may somewhat atone for the In-N-Out corporate woke screw up a little while back.
MY BAD !
That was chick-fil-a
Chick full a,
It got “Woke”
Then supported
SPLC,,,
hate their sammies.
Twitter would never allow comments supporting freedom from government overreach.
Love their “Double Double”! Had one in TX when visiting. I live in VA. Don’t have any here. I’m Bummed.
In-N-Out is awesome, but,
next time in TX try Whataburger, the best !
Used to live in Austin and ate at Whataburger many times! Fond memories!
