Unless your vehicle is really old (pre 1970) vehicles have sealed fuel systems. Your emissions systems runs a test (putting vacuum on the tank via a solenoid valve) to check for integrity and gives a diagnostic code if it leaks.

Thanks, I think. Info far too technical for me. That’s about when I lived in. FL, was married and husband insisted. We both had Mercedes.

Still, prices rise so fast, and I drive so few miles, makes economic sense to keep it full. Didn’t before Xiden wrecked the economy. Fortunately, I’m 10 blocks from Ameritrade station, always cheapest prices in town and nice people.

And my 2011 Jeep has a tiny leak somewhere in that system and two dealerships have not been able to find it!

The MIL stays on all the time!
