What happened to the plans to bypass California and unload all the freight in Mexico and truck thru Texas? Too much theft?
The Cartels would make business impossible.
I not a port freight guy but I imagine it not so easy to divert freight to deliver at another nations port then cross border ship
I think I remember a law signed years ago that Mexican trucks could only go so far into the US (20 miles?)before the cargo had to be transferred to American trucks. I think the intent was Mexican truckers were all over the US and creating accidents because of their lax license requirements, lack of insurance, sub-standard equipment, and hurting our truckers' livelihoods. I could be wrong or have it mixed up.
