Hospitals in Texas have reported an increased number of full intensive care units (ICUs) as the delta variant of the coronavirus continues to ravage communities.
According to data released Monday, 42 Texas hospitals reported that their ICU beds were filled to capacity between Oct. 8 and Oct. 14.
The data is released by the federal government's Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) on a weekly basis and accounts for about 200 Texas hospitals that have more than four ICU patients or four staffed ICU beds. Other hospitals with smaller ICU departments also reported data to HHS.

Exactly...by design. People don’t understand the business side of running a hospital. You’re not going to allocate 50 beds for COVID if you have a running average of 4 needed at any given time.
It’s far too easy for the media to distort reality here. If they’re at 90% capacity then somebody is correctly doing their job of resource allocation. The media translation “they’re almost out of CCOVID beds!”.
Aggravates me no end...
How could that be? There are so many people vaccinated out
there.
This is total BS and to say the least it is Berlin_Freeper level propaganda.
Something else to keep in mind.
Nosocomial cases might be an issue here, especially with all-vaxxed staff.
I wonder if vaxxed staff are still subject to testing...
In any case, it’s likely staff are coming in sick, intentionally or on purpose, and are spreading the coof to patients.
Yes, something is very wrong with this report about Texas.
According to CovidActNow.com, here is how Texas is doing today, compared to 7 weeks ago on September 1st.
Hospitalizations - down 60%
New Cases - down 70%
Deaths - down 33% (Deaths are a lagging indicator).
Compared to other states, Texas is in the bottom 3rd for new cases, and the bottom 10% for infection rate.
Currently, the highest infection rates are currently in heavily vaccinated New England.
BTW, the entire South is doing far better than the rest of the country. Especially low is Florida. Its 5th lowest in new cases, and 4th lowest for rate of infection.
Finally, in Texas, the number of premeditated murders has dropped by over 90% (110 per day) since Sept 1st, when new legislation making most abortions illegal came into effect
I am not causing any ICU shortages, as I do not work in a hospital and I am not a patient. My wife has strict orders NOT to send me to the hospital if I am sick, but to treat at home without hospital styles of treatment (and non-treatment), so folka like me are NOT stressing the system. We don’t TRUST the system.
Liars. Covid numbers in Texas have dropped from 22k to 5k over the last month.
Please name these hospitals and their specific locations.
yep, and cases are dropping fast as well
This tells me that in about 4days we’ll be reading a story about a sweet old guy that tried to be admitted to 37 hospitals, but they all denied him and his last words as he clutched his chest and died in his driveway was “ I just wish I would have got the vaccine!! “
They can't release many of them because the nursing homes and rehabilitation facilities won't take them back.
Nonsense from The Hill...again.
They sky is made of steel.
Report to follow on CNN and the rest.
Global Covid Climate Change! (GCCC)
# They run at 80 to 90 percent all the time...
By design. An empty bed is not making money.
That's the Austin-based Texas Tribune, which I believe is a liberal rag. August 2021 false story:
Lying liars. The true number was 783, and who knows if that was even factual. Washington Composter Jennifer Rubin fell for the false statistics, and shared it in her tweets, only taking it down after it was proven to be a false story.
