Ace Hardware is reportedly finding it difficult to keep shelves full due to the supply chain crisis threatening grocers, emergency medical services, and holiday shoppers.
Operations manager John Ketels told thechroniclesonline.com his store in St. Helens, Washington, is having difficulty stocking items due to lack of warehouse inventory.

Weird!
To suffer - yes ... not die, no. Some of these shortages might get much worse.
What if their goods were made in the US?
The ACE hardware I was in last night had plenty of everything.
I went to three stores here in North Idaho to find distilled water a couple weeks ago. I stocked up with four gallons. (yep, CPAP user)
Does it not occur to them that this is the NOT America we have known and certainly NOT one we expect?
If they stocked American-made goods, they wouldn’t be having quite as many issues keeping the shelves stocked.
Our local Ace is staffed with retired men. A lot of them came from the oil/gas industry and have a lot of hands on experience.
And they are not having stocking problems.
I am finishing up an off-grid solar installation. I have been unable to get the electrical parts that I need to do the job easily. Plastic single gang switch / receptacle boxes do not exist. The metal equivalents are a bit more work all around but even the metal boxes are diminishing. I have spent about $300 buying up what I think I might need... I am a retired electrician and I try to keep a stock of simple common pieces, so those are parts I am stocking up on a little bit also - doing occasional service calls for friends.
But almost none of these parts are the sort I used to keep a stock of; they are the best substitute available. sigh
Thanks for the report. i’ve been telling DH for weeks and weeks to stock up with parts/fluids etc that he needs for his various work he does for others and around our property. He hasn’t yet really made the orders or purchases. I will read him your experience, may spur him on.
A relative who is a plumber has said the same thing, plus the parts from China are all rotten.
If all the things people in America were MADE in America, there wouldn’t be a problem.
I am really sick and tired of hearing this lie. You don't know that elections have been STOLEN FOR DECADES? I live in the Pacific NW and elections in OR have been stolen for more than 20 years. Same with CA and WA. A few Demsheviks get in positions, funded of course by Soros and who knows what else, they appoint and hire fellow commiepukers, stuff the state will illegals, get mail in voting, moter voter laws, and voila. If elections were clean the entire west coast would look very different. Proof: Trump won in a landslide. Why isn't he in the WH? STOLEN ELECTION, down ticket positions as well.
All a sign of a booming economy and robust demand, thanks to Joe Biden. Right, Pete?
Ace is the place where everything cost a lot more than home depot.
Costco was out of TP but every other store in town has plenty of it
Fortunately the GC told us last year to buy our appliances at that time and he was going to secure the wood.
We saved thousands based on that, compared to if we had bought them as needed.
Our delays (we were told 5-6 months), were primarily in scheduling of the sub contractors. Windows took 14 weeks, dry wallers were 2-3 weeks out, tile guy was 3-4 weeks out.
It has been a slow process
I am visiting family in CT. Not seeing a single bare shelf in any store, anywhere. Grocery, hardware, Walmarts, etc. Fully stocked. Dumbells and bikes are low stock of course, but that has been the case since the start of Covid lockdowns.
My local is split between a few old guys who seem to know what they're doing and a bunch of millennial woketards who have no clue.
It’s all very weird. In terms of perishables, I overheard a couple of managers of the meat dept. in a local supermarket discussing this and saying they should keep the product in the case two days instead of one day. This is not unhealthy or dangerous, btw, and once upon a time my neighborhood butcher (NYC) had steaks you would know by name...LOL. Not really, and towards the end of the second day he’d put it on markdown.
One of the managers said they had done this before with shortages. So the stores are scrambling to keep things up and also to keep up a good appearance (full shelves or cases).
This is nuts. But that’s OK, Biden won’t experience any shortages of anything nor will the entire federal government apparatus.
