Former President Donald Trump says he would not mandate COVID-19 vaccines if he were still in office because he’d “sell it” to people to take voluntarily.
President Biden last month announced that most federal workers must get vaccinated or face losing their jobs and that companies with 100 or more employees must require shots or regular testing — drawing pushback from critics who accused him of overreach.
“I wouldn’t say to anybody, ‘You have to.’ But I would sell it. Look, I’m very proud of what we did with the vaccines,” Trump told political news host Bill O’Reilly in an interview that will air at 8 p.m. Monday on The First TV. “It was supposed to take five years and they said it wasn’t going to work. I did three vaccines in less than nine months and they do work, they work really well.”

Ditto
I’m not a big fan of Trump trying to convince folks to get the
vaccine, so I didn’t chime in on that.
As a general rule, I don’t think anyone should be weighing
in on it.
We’ve all seen the gamed reports. We’ve seen them admit the
vaccine doesn’t last long enough. We know vaccinated people
are catching it and dying.
At this point, people need to shut up and let folks weigh
it out for themselves.
The CDC, NIH, and WHO have shot their credibility all to
hell.
What a cluster _.
I still support him. I don’t worship him though.
And on Trump’s cabinet being the worst....
I can think of a lot of people I really like from Trump’s cabinet.
I can’t think of one person I like from Bush, Obama, Biden.
“Everyone is allowed to hold one wrong opinion.”
Yup. He’s not God for crying out loud LOL. Why are people so mad at this? It’s not like he said Biden is an awesome president. Wont stop me from acknowledging him in 2024. People should see the overall picture here...
Someone doesn’t have the real President’s interest at heart to talk like this. He needs to clean house and get new advisers.
What if this stupid vaccine actually impedes heard immunity.
Look, no one ever claimed Trump was right about every single thing. He’s just wrong about this.
None of the people I’ve ever voted for was infallible. And I’ve gotten plenty of heat here over the years for being critical of them when they are wrong.
He means he wouldn’t impose an unconstitutional mandate but would instead attempt to convince people, which is how it should be; I still wouldn’t get it though.
He would not get it done. The MSM would be, would have to be, against him. I may die from COVID but I damn sure won’t die from one of those shots.
I didn’t and don’t worship him either.
It’s just that I don’t see one other person out there who
has the business acumen and managerial skills he does.
People need to calm down and let him have an untethered
administration, to see what he could really do for us.
That first term was best described as Trump against the
world, and he still did good things.
Imagine, if the Republicans actually got behind and
helped.
“Only Jesus Christ himself could convince me to take it.”
Bears repeating.
Amen Brother, Amen.
President Trump might or might not convince people to get the shot but trying to convince the American people to do what he thinks is right is as far as any President should go.
Not one step further.
FJB!
I was late to the Trump train. I didn’t know anything about his politics, and figured that he was just another Manhattan liberal.
Well, I was wrong about that.
His administration demonstrated what could be accomplished by an outsider — tax cuts, reduction in the regulatory burden, foreign affairs, and then, faced with this CCP virus, he blew out the stops.
He kept doing what all of the talking heads said couldn’t be done — got the hospital ships to New York and Los Angeles (never needed, but he got it done), advocated for therapeutics which many have used to good effect, and cleared out the red tape and got the vaccines approved and distributed in a timeframe no one believed possible.
There were some missteps, but I believe him when he says he would have had a better approach than the current heavy-handed and autocratic mandates the current administration (and our own Governor) are using.
Frankly, he got the government to do everything that could reasonably be asked of it. There are proven therapeutics, the vaccines are there for anyone who wants one. And we would not be facing record-setting inflation and heading for a full-on recession either.
Minus the Remdesivir.
Love ya, Don, but this whole COVID thing has been overblown and tainted by Fauci and company.
If he really believes in the vaccine, he should say: “we created an effective vaccine, and we will show Americans the facts about its efficacy - but a moral government and free society would never force people to take a vaccine against their will.”
Trump is wonderful in some of his public statements. He captures the gist of the issues in just a few very accurate words. And he can be entertaining, too. Like this article about Covid and Biden.
And like this article about the Biden corruption generally —-

Most of the public just loves him for this ability to speak clearly without equivocation
No, they don't work well, much less "really well".
I guess his people are hiding the dropping efficacy numbers from him.
