Trump loyalists are leading a 'takeover' of local Republican parties across Georgia

For decades, Cobb County, Ga., a suburb of Atlanta, boasted one of the most influential Republican Party chapters in the state, propelling the careers of well-known lawmakers like former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and former Sen. Johnny Isakson.

However, in recent years, what was once a solidly Republican suburban bastion has morphed into a politically-competitive jurisdiction where Democrats have been ascendant over the last decade — which culminated in President Joe Biden's countywide victory in the 2020 election, along with the locality backing Sens. Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff in their respective races earlier this year.

In the wake of Georgia supporting Biden in 2020, local Republican chapters — including the Cobb County GOP — have become increasingly dominated by loyalists of former President Donald Trump, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

This is what has to happen all over the country if we are to have a genuine opposition party.

Bush League Republicans just want to be Assistant Democrats as long as they get their cut.

Given that the RINOs were what those of us in the flying world used to call “weak d*cks”, they deserve being taken over. They were as useless as brains on a leftist.

The Democratic Party has moved so far left, actually embracing a socialist/communist type government, it seems many old time democrats should be ripe for change. The Trump supporters should develop a way to reach out to them.

In so doing it would be important to develop a new “Contract for America” and set out how a Trump/Republican administration would handle each area of government - economy, immigration, foreign affairs, trade, energy, infrastructure, education, etc.

That must be a good thing.

AMEN, AMEN, AMEN.

Start with school boards.

Then delegates to state party central committees. This is where the horsetrading goes on when it's time to put up candidates for elective offices, from dogcather up to state legislatures. In Ohio here a lot of those committee seats go by default to the party bigwigs, because nobody bothers to run.

RINO grips are weakening.

Yeah, I'll believe it when I see it.

I remember a ton of so-called Tea Party types that turned into "RINOs" almost immediately after getting into Congress.

"See the new boss...same as the old boss"

I won't trust any of them until after they have power.

The Republicans have been worse then the Democrats. During the Trump era they were lining up to knife him in the back.

Trump republicans are the only ones left who want this country to survive and be great.
And the only ones left not tarnished and corrupted.
And the ones who would have had a fair election and who would not have turned our back on Trump..
And would not have given the senate to the dems.

Great news. Equally important, these activist Repubs need to start making inroads into their local elections offices. We need them on the ground and able to stop the fraud as it happens.

RINO’s still have too much power and too much money. To get rid of them will require another term of PDJT or his close clone.

They are hopeless if they need to be reached out to now. This country is going full blown communist. It is really time just to pick a side.

“...it would be important to develop a new “Contract for America”...”

I agree. The Republicans could use a Contract for America. It’s the perfect time for one. I just don’t think Kevin McCarthy is up to the task. Unlike Gingrich, McCarthy is a moderate and has no leadership skills. Jim Jordan could do it but he will never be Speaker of the House.
