The enhanced jobless payments were continued through President Biden's $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan. Many Republican governors attributed the (labor shortage) in the economy, particularly in restaurants and (retail stores), to the added benefit on top of state jobless payments. (26 states) to voluntarily end the federal benefits over the summer in advance of the Sept. 6 end date in the American Rescue Plan Act.

That name is as bad as Obama’s “American Jobs Act” which didn’t create a single true permanent job. We wasted almost $1 trillion on ridiculous “shovel ready job.” All that money did was pay off Democrat cronies and unions and blight our roads with millions of signs.
On the bright side, we don’t have millions of stupid signs all over the landscape.
It does not mean they got jobs, they just ran out of the benefit.
His claim confused me but he has trouble knowing up from down anyway. These people are still UNEMPLOYED - and it’s not necessary to file for unemployment, right? They just don’t have the extra benefit GIVEN to them on top of what they would get normally. Their normal unemployment has to run out SOMETIME....then what’s he going to do if they DO hit the unemployment office and file claims?
No one will ask Joe what happened to the money from the 2009 Recovery Act. That was his job - accounting for that money and he did nothing and NO ONE will ask him WHY we need another infrastructure package? NO ONE!!! People haven’t stopped talking about the bill(s) under consideration but that is never mentioned! Do they think people forgot it? It would appear that they have!
What’s he going to do? Blame Trump of course just like Buttigig says we’re coming out of a Trump recession that’s why all those cargo ships are waiting to unload.

Infuriating, isn’t it? Only eleven years ago fedgov spent almost a trillion dollars and virtually NOTHING to show for it. As you say, why isn’t ONE congressman asking about results of that program and why this staggering amount is needed only 11 years later?
I just don’t understand it. It’s as if that mess never even happened in spite of the publicity about Solyndra etal at the time.. Guess there are some things that just don’t have answers. But why NO ONE asks the question is what bugs me the most. I find myself being bugged more and more!!
And Solyndra was only the biggest of the failures. There were scores, maybe hundreds, of other similar startup businesses that hit the dust. The damned government has zero reason to “invest” in such companies.

The government yes - but the politicians on the other hand are a different story, aren’t they? I don’t believe a single one goes into politics for the good they can do - it’s every man for himself from what I’ve seen. Been a long, long time since I’ve seen anyone who really, sincerely, genuinely cared about this country OR meant what they said. Can’t name one offhand but perhaps one will come to me! I don’t include President Trump in that statement as he wasn’t a politician when he went into the WH and he wasn’t one when he came out. He was a breed apart from all others and thank goodness we had him for awhile!

Agreed and please keep posting it. I sometimes think you and I are the only ones who remember that boondoggle. I just cannot understand why no one’s feet are put to the fire by congressional members asking that question - WHERE DID THE MONEY GO from the last infrastructure bill? Isn’t there anyone to ask the question and anyone to answer it without embarrassing themselves?
