When I attended university I obtained work with the campus police and county police. It was a rural college town (Kansas State University). When I had opportunity to ride-along I questioned the focus they placed on addressing the minor traffic/vehicle violations. Back then (mid 80s) FBI statistics informed officers that 80% of fugitive felons were captured with these ‘minor’ stops. I doubt it has changed much since then.

Look at who commits the majority of the crime.
Look at who howls loudest about minor traffic stops.
A liberal would never grasp this.
