Texas Republican gubernatorial candidate Allen West on Monday revealed that he was released from the hospital after battling pneumonia related to a COVID-19 infection.
West, who is not vaccinated, was admitted to a hospital in Texas on Saturday. At the time he tweeted that he had concerning oxygen saturation levels.
On Monday, West posted a video to his social media accounts explaining that he had returned home and thanking supporters for their well wishes.
"I'm doing very well. I'm now back at the house. And I want to send out big shoutouts to the staff here in the COVID unit of the Medical City Green Oaks Texas," he said.
West said he received monoclonal antibody infusion therapy and treatment with a budesonide nebulizer, which is typically used by asthma patients.
He also took aim at COVID-19 vaccine mandates, saying that other treatments are possible.
"This should not be about forcing people to take a certain shot," he said.
"One of the things that I've learned, there are so many other protocols out there that we should be recommending to people," he added.

Fortunately, I heard the truth about this from a Kilmead interview with Col. West. The omissions and half-truths in this article are staggering.
Note that this article is not about the fact that there are numerous effective and inexpensive treatments for COVID-19. Or about the governmental suppression of both the prophylactic treatment for and the highly successful use of Ivermectin in Japan and India. Draw your own conclusions.

Are you in favor of the inoculation (not a vaccine) that doesn’t prevent infection and doesn’t prevent spreading to others, but does cost the taxpayers a lot of money paid to Big Pharma? West could have just as easily been infected if he had received the jabs.

I got the vaccine (JnJ) and I got covid and spent 6 days in the hospital with covid pneumonia. 10 weeks later I still don’t have full lung usage. Some say the vaccine saved me from worse consequences but there is no empirical evidence of that. It’s a matter of faith. Sorry, I’m fresh out of faith in government and mandated medicine.
My statement wasn’t false. Taxpayers are on the hook for covid treatment—whether its a $20 preventative or $100K week long hospital stay. You are arguing that the PCR tests are faulty— which is a red herring. If you have evidence Allen West had the flu and not covid, you should let him and his doctors know. Let me know how that goes.

West can easily afford to pay an injection of antibodies, so he can make the treatment decision without considering cost.
There is plenty of statistical and empirical evidence that the J&J reduces the severity of COVID in populations. You just can’t be certain that in your specific case your outcome would be different (without cloning yourself and a time machine). I think its safe to follow the numbers and assume you align with other people in your age/risk category.
Sorry to hear you got a bad and unlucky breakthrough case. And it’s unfortunate the vaccines are far from perfect. China unleashed a pernicious virus. Glad you survived.

Of course. Statistically, West would have been better off had he been inoculated from covid. He ignored the advice of nearly everyone and ended up with blood clots in his lungs. Not a smart way to “own the liberals”.
Well it is a pandemic and people with and without the shot are being hospitalized. That happens in pandemics....sick people go to hospital.
