What you are seeing has been in the smaller areas of the US for months.

Just wait. A local walmart removed a good portion of their shelving because they no longer have any products. Grocery stores have meat (locally sourced more and more), but things like fruit? Nope. No longer available.

If you have a favorite self stable vice like coffee, get some now. Or learn to do without.

Our Walmart rearranged their entire food section last Spring when the shelves were half empty. When they got done, the shelves suddenly were mostly full. Now the snacks take up a full aisle, soda takes up another one and so on. They simply increased the space for junk that people weren’t buying much of and decreased the space for food.
