The American bumble bee is destined to go the way of the brontosaurus and the wooly mammoth thanks to manmade climate change, media report.
The Center for Biological Diversity and Bombus Pollinators Association of Law Students have launched a petition calling for the bumble bee to be placed under the Endangered Species Act (ESA) to save it from extinction, USA Today reported Thursday.

Lol!
Great graphic, and so true.
Wow, that was cool!
I would disagree. As more subdivisions are being built, the homeowners are landscaping their homes with more flowers that attract bees and humming birds.
I once read an article written by one of the original founders of Greenpeace who quit, admitting it was nothing but a political organization.
In the article he addressed the alleged destruction of the rain forests in South America and the claim that it is one of the major producers of oxygen for the planet. In his words, it was a false claim.
The reason being, and one that I would agree with, as much oxygen as the upper canopy of leaves produce, the forest floor and all the decaying vegetation is using up as much oxygen as the canopy is producing. Therefore, it's a zero-sum game.
Keep that in mind the next time you observe a well landscaped subdivision or golf course with its lush green grass and subsequent landscaping producing clean, fresh oxygen as compared to the wooded area next to it with all the dead and decaying foliage within it.........
And for the record, most of the oxygen on this planet comes from the oceans and lakes........
Same here! There were loads of bees all over my avocado tree in the spring, which was followed by a record fruiting this year. Too bad I didn’t count them, there must have been at least 600, with an average weight of over 2 lbs. (the avocados, that is! lol) Enough of them to give away multiple times to everyone I know who likes ‘em, and even to break several branches from the weight. I just pruned it for the season, and am eating the penultimate one now - the last one’s sitting in the fridge. Hooray for honeybees! (Oh, and Let’s Go, Brandon!)
I do know I don’t see as many around my area as I did when I was a kid, maybe we should plant more flowers instead of homeless camps
#10 are the polar bears eating the bumble bees? : )
That would explains things.
Bumblebees have a bright future with women like this...
Highland woman becomes first known person to keep bumblebee as a pet
Underground bee nest, you mean yellow jackets right?
Aren't you confusing with the European Honeybee. Bumble bees are native to North America.
This was discredited a couple of years ago.
The bumblebees bump into each other out in the garden. Bumper crop of bumblebees this year. I did see a few honey bees too..
I saw a bumblebee JUST YESTERDAY.
They are NOT going extinct.
