Justice Breyer on Retirement Push : ‘People Say Mean Things’
Breitbart ^ | 10/14/2021 | Trent Baker

In an interview that aired Thursday on CNN’s “New Day,” Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer sounded off on the ongoing push from Democrats for him to retire while President Joe Biden is in office.

Breyer said the calls for him to retire do not “irk him” because people have the First Amendment right to say what they want. “That doesn’t irk me,” Breyer told CNN’s Joan Biskupic. “I’ll tell you. The truth, I think, is … you can always hope for your more mature self, which is there sometimes. And this is a country in which, and every day I see this in this document, but number one, it is called freedom of speech. That means freedom of thought, freedom of expression.”

Hang in there just three more years, Stevie. President Trump will be happy to appoint your replacement after that.

Breyer could try trash-talking Colin Kaepernick to a respected "journalist" like George Stephanopoulos, but we've already seen THAT doesn't work...   winking face

There should be an age limit for anyone in public service. The man is 83! I’d say 72 should be the limit. Why 72? Why not? It could be negotiated, but it would solve more problems than it creates to have an age limit.

Free and fair elections in 2022 that causes Dems to lose control. Outrage Breyer did not retire for replacement. Our ‘friend’ Mitch holds off nominees for 2 years, not one. Listen to howling.

Speculative scenario, of course.

Dems want the old liberal stooge who votes his politics on the bench to be replaced by a young liberal stooge. They gift wrap their message in the usual progressive hate. They deserve each other. A pox on all their houses

Not an age limit, but term limits definitely.

Nobody should be a 'lifer' in any office, elected or unelected.

As if that helped with Trump's two replacements. Sat out the election challenges that came their way.

No, it didn't help with the Big Steal. But it has helped in so many other cases that went our way.

And its going to help soon with our 2A rights after they hear and rule on the New York May Issue case.

I recall some radical types, after Ginsburg died, they expressed anger at her not having retired when Obama was president.

I’m sure she planned to retire and have President Hillary appoint her replacement. But when the 2016 election didn’t go their way, Ginsburg chose to try to outlast the Trump presidency.

She chose poorly.

If ONE rat senator croaks and a GOP Gov. appoints a replacement our side could influence bigly who succeeds Breyer. Holding it up would be a bit much but make no mistake. The rats would do the same under the same set of circumstances.

How Tester voted against Trumps picks suggest he’s either scared of Chuckie or a real lefty on the outside.

Good for Justice Breyer - maybe he understands Biden would replace him with a WOKE progressive (commie) who doesn't believe in freedom of speech. When he stays he can still be a liberal judge WITHOUT being a commie thug at the same time - a monster who would work to destroy the First Amendment.

Good for Breyer... and Biden still has three years to bring in commies filth... or not - so Breyer can make his decision in a few years.
