U.S. District Judge Royce C. Lamberth is holding D.C. Jail Warden Wanda Patten and D.C. Department of Correction Director Quincy Booth in contempt of court, accusing them of ‘inexcusable’ delays in providing medical treatment to prisoner Chris Worrell, who is accused of partaking in the January 6 Capitol Hill riot.
‘American Greatness’ writer Julie Kelly live-tweeted the hearing and the resulting action by the judge.
“Judge Lamberth just found the DC Jail Warden and DC DOC Director in contempt of court for refusing to turn over requested documents related to care for cancer-stricken J6 detainee,” she wrote. “Says civil rights are being violated at the jail, will refer to Attorney General office. FINALLY!!”

“will refer to Attorney General office”
Garland?, Hahaha!!! Where is a Patton when you need him?
And who authorized this? Hmmm?

And the end result will be ... nothing.
Just awful.
I know. But I am going to speculate here a bit. Garland is being put on notice and he is risking contempt himself if he continues to ignore the lack of proper medical treatment these people need. I also suspect that civil rights attorneys and maybe even other Federal judges have been talking to Lambreth. And it is possible that Lambreth knows that this better not reach the appeals courts or he is going to get severely smacked down himself.

You're probably right. But being held in contempt means that they are inches away from being outright jailed. A referral to the AG means that the judge believes that they have committed criminal civil rights violations and should be prosecuted. Garland doesn't want this hot potato and even though he isn't sympathetic to the prisoners, he will have to act. If he doesn't, the judge has the authority to appoint an independent prosecutor who WILL act!
Leaders will emerge from this.
I have thought that too. I think it was very stupid to charge so many people for such minor violations. Once freed, there may be some powerful personalities emerge. Crossing my fingers.
“ U.S. District Judge Royce C. Lamberth is holding D.C. Jail Warden Wanda Patten and D.C. Department of Correction Director Quincy Booth in contempt of court,..”
Are they in jail?

The great trespassing and unlawful parading massacre of 2021.
Any chance the punishment D.C. Jail Warden Wanda Patten and D.C. Department of Correction Director Quincy Booth receive may include flogging?!?
Otherwise, why bother with just a negative letter in their personnel files.
It was the worst trespassing event since the civil war.
Lambertville one of the really good guys.
January 6 was over NINE MONTHS ago.
