A new personality construct has been defined that describes people who persistently see themselves as victims within interpersonal conflicts. The research was published in Personality and Individual Differences.
Study authors Rahav Gabay and team describe how the social world is satiated with interpersonal transgressions that are often unpleasant and seemingly unwarranted, such as being interrupted when speaking. While some people can easily brush off these moments of hurt, others tend to ruminate over them and persistently paint themselves as a victim. The authors present this feeling of being the victim as a novel personality construct that influences how people make sense of the world around them.
The researchers call it the Tendency for Interpersonal Victimhood (TIV), which they define as “an ongoing feeling that the self is a victim, which is generalized across many kinds of relationships.”

The story is a bit old, but new to me.
It made me smile and I had to share. /sarc

I think we’ve built a society which breeds Anxiety, Depression and Victimhood.
As a society, in a broad sense, I think we are mentally ill.

Seems to me it’s just a subset of narcissistic behavior disorder.

And of course racism”.
When a surly waitress at Denny’s snarls at me, if I am black, it is because she is racist. If I am white, it’s because she is having a bad day.

Tendency for Interpersonal Victimhood (TIV) Snowflake is a much easier term for it.

All victimhood is caused by White Privilege. Everybody knows that. So this guy had better retract his findings, pronto.

The authors suggest that it would be particularly interesting for future studies to explore what happens when people high in TIV are in positions of power. The researchers wonder whether leaders with this persistent tendency to see themselves as a victim might feel more inclined to behave “in a vindictive way.” Ya think?

All narcissists engage in TIV, but not everyone who engages in TIV is diagnosable with NPD.

Children pout when things don't go THEIR way. I think the whole ‘victim mentality’ is just like that.
Immature people also believe they should always get their way and pouting (or other socially acceptable, attention-getting conduct) works! Once they command attention, they can do their victim shtick! Lazy, demanding and emotionally stunted is no way to go through life.

Tendency for Interpersonal Victimhood (TIV) Its certainly already a part of narcissistic personality disorder, paranoid personality disorder and psychopathy.

So true!!! Self fulfilling prophecy.
I think this article also explains the explosion of “transgender ism.” It's a way to get attention as a victim. Also explains hate crime hoaxes.

Isn’t this “tendency” part of the Narcissist label?

This is exactly how the left gains power, by promising to take revenge on those who have more, i.e. socialism.
Socialism is revenge. CRT is revenge.
