The borders were closed to most legal travellers. So border crossings will now be open again.
This goes along with removing barriers to entry of vaccinated tourists and general travellers, mainly arriving by air. Euro and Asian tourists can come in again.

Phew, I’m glad I booked my Vegas trip when I did. I got a nice suite at the Mirage for almost nothing ($72/day). Room rates will go up again what with international visitors making up something like half of all tourists to the strip.
Border re-opened two months ago for U.S. land travel into Canada, a whopping 9% of the normal tourist flow ensued. I would imagine it might be closer to 20% going south. There won’t be a return to normal tourism volumes. As it happens people who like to visit the U.S. from Canada are generally conservative and pro-American types, and we tend to be disproportionately vaccine hesitant. Ergo, we cannot cross the border anyway. All my anti-American leftist neighbors could but they don’t usually.
My only chance of visiting would be to seek political asylum but given that we are all sliding down the same slippery slope into the abyss together, what’s the point? I would be better off seeking a mental asylum to get away from all the crazy people.
Just come over the border illegally. The government won’t care about your vaccination status or indeed your COVID status then.
