A chronic crew shortage at Washington State Ferries suddenly became a transportation debacle Friday, when the nation’s largest ferry system was forced to reduce service on seven of its 10 routes, while preparing for weeks of missed trips and frustrated passengers.
Approximately 140 sailings were canceled Friday, and several were late, in what the agency called “a rough service day due to lack of crew.”

Is it due to the unvaxed masses?
Another factor may be Gov. Jay Inslee’s deadline of Oct. 18 for state workers to be vaccinated against COVID-19, or risk losing their jobs. Rumors have circulated for weeks of sickouts, or a wave of people preparing to quit soon.
Sure,
Kick the working commuter in the nuts some more !
That will help the state economy !
Morons
Communists
Working every day in every way to collapse our country and turn it into north Korea.
Buried in the article, but looks like it to me.
You expect ferry crews to risk the shots for your convenience?

Aw hell no !
I’d do the same !
My comment was directed at the Covid Vax Cultist Communists that run that state.
( I don’t live there or take a ferry to work, but I used to.
Manchester to vashon island.
Both the crews and commuters are being kicked in the nuts equally ,
but that’s what commies do isn’t it, tyranny misery and poverty for all,
except the politburu members.)
Make that: without a ferry.
Due to mostly crews not wanting to be vaxxed.
Require the workers to be vaccinated but not those not working and on welfare/entitlements?
From what I understand, the Washington State ferry system loses money by the bucket full. It is a totally taxpayer supported system, kinda like Amtrak.
Eastern Washington agricultural businesses have complained forever that it is unfair that people who never use the ferry system should be expected to subsidize it.
My guess is that if the price of ferry tickets were hiked to cover actual costs, people would commute in rowboats.

I said that nowhere.
Don’t put words in my mouth.
Want my words?
NO VAX ( seppuku shot) REQUIREMENT
Anywhere
Anytime.
To say I’m an anti vaxxer to the extreme is an understatement.
The article mentions the possibility, but then states its unlikely, which is BS.
Ferries need to be privatized
Yep
Probably
I work with a young lady who graduated from Western Washington U. last year, and has been working here in Texas. She recently went on vacation up there. When I asked her how her trip went, she replied, “they’re crazy up there, everyone is wearing a mask l, and freaking out if you aren’t wearing one.”
