Tea party firebrand Allen West, a candidate for the Republican nomination for governor of Texas, said Saturday that he has received monoclonal antibody injections after being diagnosed with COVID-19 pneumonia.
The antibodies are used to treat those in the early stages of a coronavirus infection.
“My chest X-rays do show COVID pneumonia, not serious. I am probably going to be admitted to the hospital,” West wrote. “There’s a concern about my oxygen saturation levels, which are at 89 and they should be at 95.”

Monoclonal antibodirs wont eork? Interesting. They are commonly used in cancer treatments of diiferent stages. Unless the viron changes shape and the antibody key wont fir. It should work here to. I am not against you taking the vax.. i am against firced medicine. Mengele may be a hero to some, but history tevealed his true nature.
Unfortunately, i am branded ant vax, but i am not. I would be first in line for the polio vax.
However history of medicine says wait one generation to find out what long term effects are. Thats reasonable, no.

My guess is he received a heavy viral load at the event he attended. If that happens, all bets are off. Social distancing does work.

Re: 45 - Correct. In fact, as my public health nurse friend says, it’s the ONLY preventive method that is 100% guaranteed to work.
Of course, in the process you have a good chance of becoming a hermit, but it works. As such, there’s better ways that evaluate risk and mitigate that risk to a reasonable degree without becoming a hermit!

Why all the concern over the sniffles? I’ve read in this very forum numerous times that the survival rate of COVID is 99.8% and near 100% with the right “protocols”.

Friend of mine tried that. Spent three weeks in a hospital after it didn’t work. So, no, it doesn’t work for everyone.

He should go to a hospital he trusts for treatment if he wishes. Where Covid is concerned, I don’t trust any right now. We see some firing staff with natural immunity but no covid shot. And ahead of any issued OSHA directives, no less. That sounds to me like a politically-driven decision and not a scientific one. If I were him, I’d recover at home. Colonel West should do for himself as his conscience directs.

That is what I did.
Then he is good to go. Especially a man in good physical condition like West.
