Curiously, the article doesn’t mention Canada-born, former MI Governor, paid CNN commenter, and current Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm. She is downright dangerous. Bet the farm she is driving this situation. Witless Whitmer is just following orders.

I don’t know much about pipeline technology, but it seems there could be a series of automatic valves tied to flow meters and networked. So if B is down line to A and it reads X as a flowrate but B says it’s actually X+Y then there’s a leak and A and B could shut down automatically, thus limiting any leak to whatever amount is between the two sensors. Let’s face it. During WWII thousands of ships were torpedoed and billions of barrels of oil were dumped into the sea or burned on the surface. But shortly after the war the beaches were clean and the skies clear. An oil spill here or there is not the calamity the media makes it out to be. Some oil leaked? It’s not the death knell to civilization or, even, the snail darters.
