Introduction
Severe COVID-19 illness in adults has been linked to underlying medical conditions. This study identified frequent underlying conditions and their attributable risk of severe COVID-19 illness.
Methods
We used data from more than 800 US hospitals in the Premier Healthcare Database Special COVID-19 Release (PHD-SR) to describe hospitalized patients aged 18 years or older with COVID-19 from March 2020 through March 2021. We used multivariable generalized linear models to estimate adjusted risk of intensive care unit admission, invasive mechanical ventilation, and death associated with frequent conditions and total number of conditions

Our study found that 9 of 18 frequent underlying medical conditions among adults hospitalized with COVID-19 were associated with severe illness. Combined with the high prevalence of these conditions (affecting 81.9% of hospitalized patients with COVID19 in PHD-SR), this finding suggests a potentially high impact at the population level. The highest risk of severe COVID-19 illness was associated with obesity, anxiety and fear-related disorders, diabetes with complication, CKD, and neurocognitive disorders.
Among patients younger than 40, essential hypertension was also a risk factor for death. The total number of underlying medical conditions was a strong risk factor of severe COVID-19 illness. Preventing COVID-19 in populations with these conditions and multiple conditions should remain a public health priority, along with targeted mitigation efforts and ensuring high uptake of vaccine, when available, in these people and their close contacts.

4. The vast majority of covid deaths have serious comorbidities. In March 2020, the Italian government published statistics showing 99.2% of their “Covid deaths” had at least one serious comorbidity.
These included cancer, heart disease, dementia, Alzheimer’s, kidney failure and diabetes (among others). Over 50% of them had three or more serious pre-existing conditions.
This pattern has held up in all other countries over the course of the “pandemic”. An October 2020 FOIA request to the UK’s ONS revealed less than 10% of the official “Covid death” count at that time had Covid as the sole cause of death.

In almost all cases the median age of a “Covid death” is higher than the national life expectancy.
As such, for most of the world, the “pandemic” has had little-to-no impact on life expectancy. Contrast this with the Spanish flu, which saw a 28% drop in life expectancy in the US in just over a year.

Which used to mean that such people should take care. Now it means we’ll all be locked down until hell freezes.
The thing about “anxiety and fear-related” disorders being a high co-morbidity factor for Covid-19 struck me as very odd. If it’s true, I would look at the biochemistry that might be underlying or causing those symptoms.
Or: “One Covid death is too many.”
Their main message continues to be that we must remain vigilant but scared and cowering in our homes until everyone gets the “vaccine!”

This caught my attention. So I did a search on a suspected correlation and discovered my suspicion was right. Low levels of Vitamin D are associated with such disorders. So I believe the culprit here is a low level of vitamin D and not necessarily a diagnosis of neurocognitive disorder.

of the high number of Covid cases in the hospital, how many are illegal aliens?
I mean, we’ve had over 1.5 million come over the border this year, and the early testing (before they quit testing) showed that about 20% of them had Covid.
That means about 300,000 of them.
This has had to have had an impact on hospitalizations.

I think it likely has to do with the levels of serotonin since high levels are pro-inflammatory according to some brief descriptions I just read.

I doubt if Hospitals can even question a persons citizenship......so it’s impossible to tell...and even if they are illegal they wouldn’t offer that information.

They don’t have to. They can ask for insurance, run background checks, etc. If they’re illegal they’ll know. Then they become a charity case unless there’s some pot of govt money out there for them.
