The United States reached a grim milestone this week, surpassing 700,000 total deaths from COVID-19. This week also, the total of vaccine doses administered in the USA surpassed 400 million.
Reported Cases: The current 7-day moving average of daily new cases (95,448) decreased 11.6% compared with the previous 7-day moving average (107,953).
New Hospital Admissions: The current 7-day daily average for September 29–October 5, 2021, was 7,440. This is a 13.2% decrease from the prior 7-day average (8,378).
Deaths: The current 7-day moving average of new deaths (1,431) has decreased 8.4% compared with the previous 7-day moving average (1,563).
Vaccination: As of October 7, 2021, the 7-day average number of administered vaccine doses reported (by date of CDC report) to CDC per day was 948,921, a 30.5% increase from the previous week. Nearly 95% of Seniors have received at least one dose, almost 84% are fully vaccinated, and over 10% of Seniors have now received boosters.
Variants: The national proportion of cases attributed to the Delta variant is estimated to be greater than 99%. Nowcast estimates indicate that Delta will continue to be the predominant variant circulating in all 10 U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) regions.
Test Positivity: The percentage of COVID-19 NAATs (nucleic acid amplification tests) that are positive (percent positivity) (6.1%) has decreased from the previous week (6.6%).

Thank you!
the people that report these statistics are the same people that refuse to warn us about the dangers of president biden spreading hundreds of thousands of disease carrying invaders across our country during a “global pandemic”...
How can anyone look at this curve and not realize that the bad guys are spreading the virus around to locations.
not surprising...
our government’s actions and double standards prove they don’t care about our citizens health and safety...
Look at the pretty fake graghs!
Sometimes a 30-second ad plays before the main subject.
What is the future of delta - will it weaken and die out as more people contract it and/or are vaccinated or will there be a winter surge as occurred last year starting around November?

Yes.
I’m also guessing that the vaxx weakens your immune system so that you are more susceptible to new varieties
“ What is the future of delta”?
Most of the modelers predict another (smaller) wave sometime during cold and flu season.
Our (US) current Delta wave is not dropping as sharply as some other Countries did, so we may be looking at more of a moderate plateau level, or more gradual decline continuing to drag on for a couple of more months, more like the UK curve (with a seasonal bump, sometime during the cold & flu season). When there is enough immunity out there for this highly infectious Delta variant (which seems to need 90% or more), case numbers should peter out to a very low level.
Eventually though, most people will end up getting exposed to Delta, and developing strong resistance to it. It will persist in the wild as an endemic disease, pretty much all over the world.
The CEO’s of bothe Pfizer and Moderna predict that in a year, increased vaccination and exposure will bring Delta down to levels that no lo longer require public health policy controls, pretty much worldwide. The USA and other developed Nations, should get there first.
My guess is that any future waves will be less than this last Delta wave was, in the USA. After this Winter’s cold & flu season, there should not be any more running room for Delta in the USA.
There is not much room for any other variant to be significantly more infectious than Delta - Delta is already near the top of the range. The only big wildcard would be variants that evade our existing immune response.
Winning the War Against Therapeutic Nihilism & Trusted Treatments vs Untested Novel Therapies
Association of American Physicians and Surgeons Published October 4, 2021
Singapore made a conscious policy decision to open up their society and restore their economy, after it got to 80% vaccinated, with their “living with COVID” policy. That is why there is such a sudden surge (unrelated to the more gradual curve of vaccine administration, which simple-minded people might like to assume as a cause)
It was a switch from a highly locked down, to a “let it rip” set of policies - exacerbated by the highly infectious nature of the Delta variant.
Along with their re-opening, they also instituted very extensive testing, which has also resulted in much higher numbers of reported cases. 98% of new patients are asymptomatic or have only mild symptoms.
