American parents are organizing to fight racist critical race theories being taught in their kids’ schools. Attorney General Merrick Garland, once touted as a moderate, has responded by asking the FBI to treat them as domestic terrorists.
As befits the Biden administration, this over-the-top authoritarianism is accompanied by the stench of corruption, as it turns out that Garland’s son-in-law is in the business of selling educational materials on CRT.
Garland’s self-dealing and thuggery are grounds for resignation. But that isn’t the worst thing that’s happened. Bad as it is, the Biden administration’s poisonous combination of graft and authoritarianism can be remedied by getting rid of the administration — something that, if polls are any indication, is eminently doable.
The bigger problem is that school boards all over America seem to be growing ever more authoritarian themselves. Instead of serving as bastions of small-scale representative democracy, boards seem to regard themselves as above accountability to the voters and parents.

It wasn’t the right that turned them into war zones. That was the left. And they expect us to go off and sulk while they carryout their plans.
Once a free country, once the world home of freedom of speech and expression.
Does someone here have the meme of the Saturday Evening Post cover by Norman Rockwell of the common working man standing up to give his opinion? Saw it a while ago here.
Sorry. Doesn’t work.
Do these parents continue to send their kids to the schools they complain about?
I believe that this is a political manuver fully! Merrick Garland is so transparent that is certain. He serves that jackass Biden well. A manuver to try and paint people’s dissent as domestic terrorism sounds just like a Biden trick, and Garland does it well. But look at it in this way. They are trying to take away people’s right to free speech. That is unAmerican, and illegal under the Constitution. Still Biden and Garland are democrats.
Some parents are not financially capable to yank their kids out of public school.
So many people have practically nothing, do not send their kids to school, and their kids go on to do well. Homeschooling is not expensive, and your kids can have an enriching social life outside the public school system.
Funny how most white American women are in lock step with the cows on the view, watch cnn and msnbc, are the first ones when it comes to anything remotely close to being racist, homophobe, transgender mental illness they vehemently proclaim the latter and yes of coarse they voted for joe and the ho because we all need a change from the Nazi trump are now the target of their hopes and dreams. emotions have the consequenses
Some people other than elites which you appear to be need to go to work, single parent or two, but you refuse to admit that so dont bother replying.
Thank you very much.
My income is low, and I struggled to pay the mortgage every month, mostly because a large portion of it was a school tax. There are many families in the same position. We watched our spending. We never sent our kids to school. Many of the kids were pretty much self-taught, and they did very well.
“Do these parents continue to send their kids to the schools they complain about?”
AND WHY SHOULD THEY HAVE TO DO EITHER??? Their taxes are used to fund those schools, and those Boards are **supposed to** represent them and the best interests of the kids. So they protest and warn the Boards to remember for whom it is that they work. Why is there a problem with that?
How many people vote in school board elections?
Going forward I believe that will change.
Parents have had their eyes opened and in regard to a lot more than schools since Biden took over.
Yes and once while this is being addressed by parents they next need to push for cameras in class rooms.
That will snap these purveyors of socialism in line,PDQ
I have lived here for more than 14 years voted in every election and I don’t remember seeing any school board person on the ballet!
