Government orders Google to track, provide info on what someone is searching using ‘keyword warrants’

Federal investigators have reportedly been trying to solve crimes by using warrants to force Google to search its databases for anyone in the public who’s ever used its search engine to look up certain information on the victim.

For instance, to try and determine who’d kidnapped and sexually assaulted an underage girl in 2019, federal investigators in Wisconsin used a warrant to force Google to list the names of anyone who’d “searched for the victim’s name, two spellings of her mother’s name and her address over 16 days across the year,” according to Forbes.

This sort of warrant is known as a “keyword warrant.” This stunning use of power was recently uncovered by Forbes through an “accidental unsealed court document.”

“The warrant only came to light because it was accidentally unsealed by the Justice Department in September,” according to Forbes.

Yep . it’s a very non specific warrant. We are not in Kansas anymore. Will a VPN stop this? Don’t know. Perhaps someone here with this knowledge will chime in......

You know this goes hand in hand with the 600 dollar banking activities.

Man we are not in Kansas.

Back in the day, way before the internet and such,
they would go down to the local library and try to determine
what books a suspect had checked out.

They used to do real news reporting on the major TV networks, too. Anyway, it stands to reason that the internet offers ample means for tracking nefarious activities and taking legal action based on search results.

Solution = DuckDuckGo.com

Or, for Google's results (supposedly) without Google's privacy violations, try Startpage.

Always assume every character you type and web address accessed is recorded and permanently stored.

Be very wary of electronic devices and the Internet.

As Junior promised in late 2001, the US government has total information awareness.

I searched for ivermectin information about two weeks ago.

I still get lots of ads for deworming meds.

The profit margins on deworming meds must be great.

“Will a VPN stop this?”

As our former President said, never trust anything to a computer you want kept private.

The amount of money the US government spends on domestic surveillance is probably well over $10 billion annually.

There are probably about six people assigned to freerepublic alone.

Every post is almost certainly read by a government agent and a poster is flagged when criterion are met.

Don’t be torn. Any power ceded to them will be used as a political weapon. See Jan 6. See the weaponized police department with attack helicopters from the Patriot act. Proverbs 29:2.
