Princess Cruises and Port of Los Angeles Highlight Economic Impact of the Return of Cruising
SANTA CLARITA, Calif., Oct. 6, 2021 /PRNewswire/ -- Princess Cruises celebrated the arrival and return to service of Majestic Princess at the Port of Los Angeles today. Princess Cruises and the Port of Los Angeles highlighted the positive multi-dimensional impact cruising has on Los Angeles and surrounding communities. "We're pleased to welcome guests aboard Majestic Princess today and celebrate the ship's maiden voyage from the West Coast," said Jan Swartz, Princess Cruises president. "We have we been sailing out of Los Angeles since our cruise line first began in 1965, and our guests and crew are helping the City of Angels generate substantial revenue for local businesses with our West Coast cruises homeporting from here year over year."

After enjoying a short “test” cruise in September, we are looking to book one in October, before the bargain prices disappear.
It’s a floating city.
A city without slums, more like a shining city on the hill.
Why did gov. newtsome allow a plague ship to land?/s
… also a floating Petri dish.
ROFL That is true
May because hundred’s of cruise ships have already landed without any problems with covid outbreaks. My cruise ship landed in Port Canaveral in September with zero problems. I am looking to book another cruise in October. Port Canaveral is a short 90 minute drive for me, so I look for last minute bargains.
Did I miss something? I was on an ACTUAL cruise in mid-September 2021, and saw first hand that there were zero covid outbreaks on ship. Do you have actual experience of cruising this year or just shooting off the hip?
LOL read post #9 and pick yourself off the floor!
He was probably referring to the most common outbreak on cruise ships: Legionnaire Disease...
They are all floating petri dishes
I don’t do “health protocols” and never will....

Do you own stock in cruise lines? Just curious based on the hard sell.
Some folk just love to gripe about most everything when it comes to cruising or work for land tour companies.
Their loss. A Bump is a bump.
We’re going in June. We had two cruises cancelled since this debacle began.
I’d hop aboard tomorrow if we had a dogsitter available on short notice.
Your choice. Keep in mind lost opportunities to enjoy a cruise is time lost for ever, never to appear again.
I am age 81, and wish to do at least 25 more cruises before kicking the bucket. There is no time to waste from fear and paranoia. Heck I could die today driving to grocery store if a truck collides me in the back at a traffic light. My death-bed regret will be how many mor3e cruises I could have done but did not.
I only invest in index funds. If the SPX 500 fund owns cruise line stocks, may be.
Not trying to sell anyone a cruise. Simply pointing out my experience 3 weeks ago on a cruise ship. It was very good! No crowds (ship was less than 1/3rd full), extra pampering by crew, rarely had to wear masks, and prices right now are rock bottom. Will book another cruise very soon, Oct or Nov.
For me this is a matter of principle.
I will not be subjected to “medical protocols” by anyone—just not happening.
That is my line in the sand.
You are entitled to your principles. I am entitled to enjoying life as much as as possible.
