A second juror on Wednesday was excused from the Theranos trial after the woman expressed religious concerns about Elizabeth Holmes being punished if she's found guilty.
Juror No. 4 told U.S. District Court Judge Edward Davila that she wanted to speak to him about concerns with her service.
She said she was concerned she couldn't continue serving on the case because she's a Buddhist. "If she is found guilty and gets punishment from the government for that I feel guilty for that every day in my life," she told the judge.

What, Buddhist’ don’t believe in punishing the guilty?
There is also a Buddhist maxim that one should try to solve problems without going to court if possible, so maybe the reluctance is taking that maxim to an extreme.
Rather late in the day for a juror to start having second thoughts.

What Buddhist wouldn’t understand the Diamond Sutra and guilt is created in one’s mind, it doesn’t exist otherwise. She just wants out of jury duty is all under the guise of religious belief.

This is some western “Buddhist” woman following a twisted woke western version of Buddhism. IOWs it ain’t!
They allowed her off of the jury cause her reasoning was confused. She may have taken an illigical position on purpose, to be dismissed. Very difficult to get off jury duty in california. Act like a philosophically confused person and you are OFF.
