Maybe they should make better cars, period! Build them to have less maintenance, and not be so expensive to fix. But no, now they promise to make crappy EV’s as well as crappy ICE vehicles.

We paid $69K for our home in 2002.

Now, a decent truck costs that.

The house across the street was bought for $300K..................

“Tesla’s Musk Says U.S. Electricity Production Needs to Double to Power Transition to EV Vehicles
No one with a clue is addressing this issue.”

It’s because even the power companies don’t believe this BS.

This headlong rush to build EVs is gong to be one of the biggest failures in American business history. Much of the raw materials come from our enemies, the charging infrastructure doesn’t exist, it takes forever to “refuel” your vehicle, and there are no power plants to recharge zillions of batteries. Wind and solar won’t ever make a dent in our power needs. If, by some chance they do, then all of Arizona and New Mexico will be covered by solar cells and all of the windy states will be covered in tens of millions of disgusting windmills. There won’t be an unspoiled vista left anywhere in the USA.

At some point, people are going to wake up and find this whole boondoggle is a gigantic disaster.

It would take lots of space to fully describe the many poorly engineered and even more poorly assembled cars that dumb*ss suits at GM fooled me into purchasing. Had Dorkbama the Muslim eunuch quota boy been slightly less inept and corrupt than he was, he might have left that loathsome collection of excrement go bankrupt years ago. As for me, GM does not exist. Not now. Not in the future. As with Biden, eff GM.

Having slaved as a first tier supplier to GM Powertrain for 15 years, I sorta-kinda agree with you. We did a lot to improve the reliability and longevity of their engines and transmissions, and I had respect for some of the GM engineers I worked with. But GM's middle and upper management still leaves me fuming with resentment, even though I retired early in 2009. Not to leave out the UAW, which actually stands for United Against Work.

Needless to say, I will never ever buy a GM product.

When I retired, I seriously expected GM to implode, and it couldn't have happened to a more deserving union. But Teh Halfrican bailed them out, so the festering sore in Detroit continues to fester.

They can soon stop paying government mandated ransom to Elon Musk.

Great, another anti-Elon freak. Honestly, where do you people come from?

The evil combination of Wuflu, wokeness, so-called climate change and EVs will be the conduit for a police state that destroys the middle-class and with it, our republic.

I’ve hated them since they took a gasoline engine block and put a diesel head on it that below up after 25K miles.

They have been a sh&tty company since the late 1970’s.
My last GM product was a 1975 GMC pickup truck.
Since then it has been Volvo’s, Honda’s, Subaru’s and Toyota’s.

One of my neighbor’s has an electric car. He had it plugged in overnite to charge. He’s got a charging station outside his house, how much does it cost to charge a vehicle? It usually takes about 7 to 10 hours from what I’ve seen and while it’s charging the vehicle headlights are on the whole time.

The last GM vehicle I owned was 1 1953 Chevrolet. Paid $300 for it used while in college. Would not touch one today.

+++++++++++++++++++++++

If you got 25K, you were doing good. How about the Cadillac jewel - the V8-6-4?
They had a decent vehicle in the Saturn, but since it was made in a right to work southern state it was cut loose. FUGM.

Why do the NWO government want you to own a EV ... because when they turn the electricity off because you did not do as ordered, you will not have any heat, light, refrigeration, access to your money, no ability to buy anything and most important .... no way to escape.

Here’s How Long It Takes to Charge an Electric Car

How long would it take to charge some of the leading electric cars on the road fully?

Use these approximate calculations based on a 240V Level 2 power source and charging capacity, according to the manufacturers’ websites for the following 2021 cars:

Chevrolet Volt EV: 10 hours
Nissan Leaf: Up to 11 hours
Tesla Model S: 12 hours
Karma GS-6: 4 hours
Tesla Model 3: 12 hours
Porsche Taycan: Up to 10.5 hours
Mini SE Hardtop: 4 hours
Audi E-Tron: 10 hours
Polestar 2: 8 hours
BMW i3: 7 hours

With ranges varying from 100-300 miles per charge, this isn't a big deal for big-city commuter traffic, or casual use in a small town. But any sort of extended travel will be dramatically altered. Filling up a car now takes about 10 minutes.

Their EV emphasis will in short order take them straight into the garbage can. And the government will bail them out again. They just aren’t very smart at GM. They have a case if bidenitis.

Assuming electricity was cheap and abundant (which it’s not), EVs could be a reasonable vehicle for local driving. Much like golf carts at Florida’s The Villages.

“Tesla’s Musk Says U.S. Electricity Production Needs to Double to Power Transition to EV Vehicles”

Or, they might believe they could kill off enough of the population with, say a pandemic and their cure for it, that power production would be enough to serve the remaining population and those among it that were able to make use of a vehicle.

Yea, the union did not like the Saturn plant.
That was the best vehicle line they had.
