A tech and telecom staffer for Sen. Amy Klobuchar announced she is leaving her staff to join Apple, the news coming just hours after the Minnesota Democrat slammed Big Tech for having “literally hired so many people” in Washington, DC.
April Jones, the deputy legislative director and counsel for Klobuchar on tech and telecom issues, will be joining Apple as a senior government affairs policy counsel, according to Politico.
The announcement came Wednesday, one day after Facebook whistleblower Frances Haugen spoke in front of the Senate Commerce Committee’s consumer protection subcommittee, blasting her former employer and calling for government regulators to step in.

She has been reported to be a “difficult” boss, but I guess the association was enough to get a ticket on the gravy train.
Yes, Amy has a long and storied history of mistreating and embarrassing her employees, many of them have walked out on her over the years, going back to her time working in Minnesota.

That incredibly stupid statement cracks me up. The more Washington, DC sticks its nose into everybody’s business, the more companies and people need people in Wash DC. You either get eaten by Washington or you start defending yourself before they eat you. I’m sure companies would be a LOT happier if they didn’t need “people in DC” — it’s a HUGE waste of non-productive resources.
The ONLY way companies would have fewer people in Wash DC is if the government were shrunk by 50% or 75%. But it is a self-perpetuating beast and that will never happen.
Those bastards sure don’t waste any time do they?
