There have been 78 instances of criminals firing fully automatic weapons in Minneapolis so far this year, according to ShotSpotter data.
A fully automatic weapon is one which fires more than a single bullet per press of the trigger. They are also known as “machine guns,” have been tightly regulated since 1934 and banned since 1986. Today, collectors are allowed to own machine guns produced before 1986, but high price tags and exceedingly strict regulations make them next to impossible for the average person to acquire. Fully automatic rifles in poor condition cost about $20,000 — higher-quality rifles routinely sell for over $50,000.
The amount of fully automatic gunfire in the streets of Minneapolis is shockingly high given America’s tight control of these weapons.
Since the outset of this year, the Minneapolis Public Health and Safety Committee reports that 935 rounds have been fired as part of fully automatic strings based on data collected by the city’s ShotSpotter. If even one of these bullets were to find its mark, it would represent a substantial change to American gun crime statistics.

Fully auto weapons are being brought over the borders by drug cartels.
Yep. Semi-autos converted to sub machine guns with auto sears. I’ve heard the recordings from crime scenes. It’s real.
The Somalis with AK-47s are skewing the numbers to make it look like a war zone...what a minute!

I’m guessing this is fake news. Without a special ATF stamp, it is illegal to possess a machine gun. And criminals can’t own any type of firearm.
I kid, of course. Laws are only for the law-abiding.
If the cartels in Mexico can smuggle drugs and people across the border in record numbers, why not weapons, China would be more than happy to provide the them along with a number of other countries
The easiest sort of firearm to construct is an open-bolt submachine gun like the Sten or M3A1 Grease Gun.
Just sayin’.
War is raging in this country, it’s not some grim future thing, not some slippery slope thing...it’s going on right now. Conditions in this country are going to get A LOT worse before there is a chance of them getting any better. It’s been the aim of several Anti-American groups for many years to plunge this country in to chaos and create third world conditions all throughout the US, and they are winning.
How much do you think the ATF agents are getting for these guns when they sell them to a gang banger?”?
To those that worship at the alter of soros, how’s that working out for ya?
Little Mogadishu on the Mississippi
and the fib is not interested .
It is real hard tom tell by sound recordings if it is full auto for semi auto.
Import Somalia, become Somalia.
Don’t know if this is where the guns come from but here’s the story:
I was on a business trip to Minneapolis one week after the George Floyd incident and the hotel shuttle driver started talking all about the riots. He spoke of points never brought up in the news (he had invested in a business that was destroyed and lost all his savings).
Among many things he said the people on top of the businesses with rifles were NOT the store owners. They were Mexican cartel. They had loaned money to many of the business owners and the cartels did not want their investments burned to the ground.
Cartels have military grade weaponry. Not store bought guns.
This is not a statement about black people in general, but strictly Somalis. They all really do look peculiarly similar. It’s no wonder Ms. Omar married her brother; she probably mistook him for her boyfriend.
In the audios that I have heard, there is no doubt
As I recall, the Somalia rate of cousin-marriage is nearly as high as Pakistan and Afghanistan. This also contributes to low IQs
