John Kerry tells French TV viewers that Biden was ‘literally’ not aware of the deal that caused France to recall its ambassador to the United States

A stunning admission from an administration insider that the President of The United States is clueless and out of touch on some of the most important strategic issues of the day was delivered to a French television audience by former Secretary of State and current presidential special envoy for climate John F. Kerry.

p>Last month, France recalled its ambassador to the United States in reaction to the secret negotiation of military alliance called AUKUS (Australia, UK and US) that resulted in cancellation of a gigantic (estimates as high as $66 billion) contract for Australia to buy French diesel submarines (to be assembled in Australia, but generating many jobs in France). Instead, Australia will use American nuclear technology, and push back the entry in service of the new submarine fleet by several years.The alliance that excluded France and devastated employment in its defense industries caught the French by surprise.

One might think that a new strategic alliance with a huge negative impact on our oldest ally might be something that POTUS ought to know about. Jim Geraghty of National Review, who broke the story, writes:

In an interview with French television, U.S. Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry helpfully explains that President Biden simply had no idea that the U.S.-U.K.-Australia deal on submarines would irk the French government, and “had not been aware of what had transpired.”
Kerry: President Biden asked me about it, and I told him, and expressed–
Interviewer, surprised: You told Joe Biden that it was not the right-
Kerry: He asked me. He said, ‘what’s the situation?’ and I explained exactly, uh… He was he had not been aware of that, he literally, literally had not been aware of what had transpired.

The French submarine deal was a major political morass in Australia, according to Australian news stories I saw months ago. The deal was sold to the Australian people as creating loads of high paid jobs, developing their industrial sector, etc. this almost immediately turned into long delays, tripling of costs, and few jobs n Aust.— most in France, for diesel subs the Chinese could detect and destroy. This was a deal that needed replacing. Just as in Afghanistan, it’s not the big picture policy that was wrong — it’s Biden’s clueless, incompetent implementation.

Kerry’s interjection of “literally” is almost certainly a tell that he is prevaricating. As VP for 8 YEARS of the French sub deal, Biden had to know quite a lot about it (mebbe he forgot...). He just proceeded without thinking, as is his wont.

The job title in sentence one,”Presidential Envoy for Climate,” is so absurd right on the face of it, that all other absurd cabinet members, policies, non-policies, derelictions of duty, obvious lies and misrepresentations and lies about the lies that are pumped out to the by today’s totalitarian Democrat administration are not only possible, but probable.

That the average Joe (but not Joe Biden) knows that “Presidential Envy for Climate” is a Monty Python job title, just as ridiculous as”The Minister of Silly Walks,” but is afraid to say so at school, at work, or in a lot of social circles. Kerry likely had a hand in creating this cabinet post. He continues a career of disinformation.

There was no way he could quote Biden, since Biden is out to lunch and anything Biden might have said would not have made sense.

The climate to which Kerry is assigned is the climate in the White House.
