Tried getting a DNS lookup for facebook.com on 8.8.8.8 and got

** server can't find facebook.com: SERVFAIL

and

** server can't find www.facebook.com: SERVFAIL.

Very unusual for a company like Facebook to screw up like this and even moreso for the outage to last so long (over an hour, I've heard).

Wonder if the news from the Whistleblower got some government upset and never forget they just drilled for such a scenario with Cyberpolygon and the WEF...

I've been messing with DNS professionally going on 30 years now... actually longer. But anyway, I looked up the NS RRs for facebook.com DNS and queried them DIRECTLY for facebook.com SOAs from four different networks that I have access to, and I'm unable to get a response from any of the four networks.

So I'm not entirely certain what happened to them, but at least at this point, it's safe to say that their DNS is FUBAR. Too bad... couldn't have happened to a nicer bunch of people. :-)
