Sen. John Cornyn Says He Wants to Succeed Mitch McConnell as U.S. Senate GOP Leader
The Texan ^ | 9/22/2021 | Daniel Friend

In an interview during the Texas Tribune’s virtual festival, Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) said that should Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) leave his role as the Republican leader in Congress’ upper chamber, Cornyn would want to take his place.

“It’s been my honor to work with Sen. McConnell, who’s been in the Senate a lot longer than I have,” said Cornyn when asked about the possibility of a future majority or minority leader from Texas.

“But should he decide to step down and no longer serve as leader, I’ve made it no secret that I would like to succeed him,” said Cornyn. “If there’s an opportunity to do that, I would like to do that.”

-snip-

Cornyn said that during his three terms in the Senate so far, he’s “learned a lot” and “developed good relationships” with Republicans and Democrats alike.

“I think that’s based on mutual trust in a place where trust is in short supply. People know me,” said Cornyn.

Old saying.....Those who seek leadership the most are seldom suited for it.

How and why Texas continues to send this POS back to the Senate is beyond me. The Senate is hopelessly lost. Save 2-3, EVERY Republican in it needs to be tossed out and kicked out of the country. They serve no purpose other than to enrich themselves, their friends and their donors.

Rand Paul

Cruz has some globalist tendencies. Basically, out of 50 Republican Senators, other than Rand Paul, I cannot think of one that hasn’t shown their Globalist side more than once, Hawley & Cotton included.

Why would Republican senators want to replace an a-hole with a corn-hole?

How does he get elected? State party folks intimidate any that dare to challenge him?

Gee let me see. One senior DC Swamp Rino wants to replace another senior DC Swamp Rino. Too bad we didn’t get term limits passed when we had the chance.

Cornyn is a blithering idiot. Pray that he doesn’t succeed Mitch. Cornyn makes McConnell look like a genius.

At every opportunity, Cornyn disappoints the conservative voter in Texas.

I’m from Texas and please, God, NO. This man is ridiculed as John “Wayne” Cornyn because every election cycle he comes back to Texas, puts on a cowboy hat, and rides a horse in an open field with cattle. He is the definition of the swamp. If we could find a good primary candidate, he would be gone.

Replace one dinosaur, McConnell, age 79 with another, John Cornyn, age 62.

I certainly hope not!!

We need someone, preferably a former business executive, age around 45.

And we DESPERATELY need term limits for all members of the executive branch, all agencies and all members of the legislative branch.
