The only “future” ahead for West Virginia is for Manchin to immediately change is party affiliation to Republican. He knows the hourglass is swiftly drianing away for him with the looming swingback in the 2022 midterm, and he’s the last Democrat in the WV congressional delegation. After that, his vote will be irrelevant and his political career, which has been fraught with double-dealing, side-mouth talking and flip-flopping, will come to an end. He has a chance to joing the real future if he has the balls and the character.
The odds of the GOP winning control of the Senate in 2022 are slim at best. There are way too many safe Democrat seats and too many vulnerable Republican seats being contested for that to happen.
