Gladys Berejiklian has announced her “difficult decision” to resign as NSW Premier.

It comes after the NSW Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) confirmed it is investigating whether she “breached public trust” or “encouraged corrupt conduct” in a bombshell statement outlining the probe.

The investigation relates to the allegations surrounding her secret romantic relationship with disgraced former MP Daryl Maguire and whether she knew anything that should have been reported to corruption authorities earlier.

Ms Berejiklian said it “pained her” to make the decision, which comes after “challenging weeks of the most challenging times in the state’s history” — but that she had “been given no other option”.

“I have made it clear on numerous occasions that if any of my ministers were the subject of allegations being investigated by an integrity agency or law enforcement, then he or she should stand aside during the course of the investigation until their name was cleared,” she said.

Can the ICAC come here to the United States for a while and look into a few matters starting with the Biden clan?

that is a good point. There is a lot of footage of bad police action. The new prime minister needs to watch his or her back because the power structure will not give up its control voluntarily.

Appoint, not elect. She has only resigned her position as Premier not her seat in the Legislative Assembly. So she is still an MLA for the moment.

The Coalition will pick a new Premier from the Cabinet and the Governor will appoint them as Premier.

AS I understand it, while New South Wales is bad. It is not at the draconian levels of lockdown that you see in Victoria to the South.

Premier of the State of New South Wales, not Prime Minister of The Commonwealth of Australia.

You’re welcome. Also another report I saw says she is now resigning her seat in the the Legislative Assembly too. So she is out of Parliament completely.
