Joe Biden’s $3.5 trillion ‘Build Back Better” plan is in deep trouble. Moderates believe it’s too expensive and radicals think it doesn’t go far enough.
But what the Build Back Better plan suffers from is a lack of clarity about what’s in it for the American people. The bill would expand several popular government programs — with dental, vision, and hearing aid benefits added for Medicare, and Obamacare subsidies expanded and extended.
But Joe Biden has gotten sidetracked in recent weeks as reality came calling and he had to answer. The Afghanistan debacle and the return of high rates of pandemic infections have prevented the president from taking advantage of the late summer lull caused by Congress not being in session to barnstorm the country to sell his agenda.
“This is a case where the parts are greater than the sum: It’s important for people to know what the parts are, they are very popular and would have a very positive impact on people’s life,” David Axelrod, former senior adviser to President Barack Obama told AP. “But it’s become a battle over price tag and that’s unappealing. That’s the battlefield where Republicans want Democrats to fight.”
“‘Building Back Better’ doesn’t say to people what we are building back — at least when you talk about bridges, people have an idea,” said Robert Blendon, a longtime public opinion analyst at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. “It’s the price you pay when you are not dealing with a single issue. … ‘Building Back’ is the slogan, but there’s just no evidence that the public grasps what is in this bill.”

Socialism test in action.
The Dems want this to feed and house all the Haitian and South Americans coming in.....20,000 new ones on their way.
They will pass something. There is no possibility that everything will fail. That is just wishful thinking
DC always finds a way to make bad worse. They never simply say “yeah this is a bad idea, let’s start all over”
This is kabuki.
If the puppet masters really want this, it’s a done deal. If not, it draws attention away from the other disasters.
Can’t wait until Pelosi votes in the house.
And watch RAT moderates stick their neck out
and vote for it.
It will then die in the Senate.
Those RAT moderates in swing district will be voted out.
Bring on the vote.
We’ll see what kind of sweetheart deal gets dangled in front of the noses of Sinema and Manchin.
Why do I sense this to be theater that will quietly come to resolution in the dead of night?
We’re gonna get Stupak’d again
This division here is easy to understand. “Moderates” are stunned by the absurd counterproductive wastefulness of this “bill”. “Radicals” drool over it. “Moderates” do not see the advantages this “bill” offers the American people. “Radicals” also do not see the advantages this bill offers the American people, because it offers only chaos, corruption, and economic decline. That is what they want. Seems clear enough.
Why would there need to be anything for the American people. It must be for the party and power.
Whenever a party or whatever is in charge there will be arguments like this. Thus this is just more evidence that they have absolute complete control over the federal government. They will eventually sort out which of the bad plans they can live with and then foist it on us.
Of course there is a sand wall between them and us but it is dominated for the most part by RINOs.
The whole purpose of having a $3.5 trillion spending bill is so that every member of Congress can go back to their states and districts and brag about how much money they got for their constituents.
I find it hard to believe there are any members of Congress who aren't getting enough out of a monstrosity like this.
I hear the number of Haitians working their way towards the border is a lot higher, perhaps 85,000?
It would be better for the United States and serve justice if, following trials and convictions for their actions, Demonicrats would publicly experience a short drop and quick stop.
If the stock market goes into free fall tomorrow, that will bring the recalcitrant dems into submission. I expect something in the neighborhood of $2 trillion to pass. Manchin will buckle under too, “for the good of the country.”
When they bankrupt the country, people will be desperately dependent on the Big Government Complex. A dollar may be worth 50 cents before Biden leaves office.
This is kabuki theater.
The Senate passed a bipartisan infrastructure bill for over $1 trillion.
Nancy just needs to pass it in the House and Biden will sign it.
There will be enough RINOs in the House to offset the communists that want the $3.5 trillion or nothing.
This is all just a show meant to distract us.
Meltdown! Yeeaaah!!
Probably since there’s hundreds more lined up to get through the jungle in Columbia .
