Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards (D) extended the statewide mask mandate on Tuesday yet again, declaring “masks have been proven to help slow the spread” of the Chinese coronavirus.
The Democrat governor initially implemented the indoor mask mandate, which applies to those five and older, on August 4. It was originally set to expire on September 1, but the governor extended the rule until September 29. Then, the day before it was set to expire, he extended yet another month. Now it will remain in place until “at least” October 27:

My observation post IDA:
95% of the people who did not evacuate from the storm went about their tasks maskless. As resources re-opened, hardly no one was wearing masks at groceries etc. including the employees. Now that the evacuees have returned about 75% seem to be wearing masks but no one is challenging the 25% who still are not.
The fearless stayed for IDA, the fearful have returned.

I just looked at a webcam on Bourbon St. to take a survey. There were so few people I couldn’t do it. I don’t know how businesses on Bourbon St. are surviving. I know it’s not the weekend, and it’s raining, but damn. There was almost nobody there, and screen captures over the last 24 hours were no different.
Bel Edwards was my representative before he became guv. He was just as horrible. I live in a rural town in Louisiana. Lots of deplorables not wearing masks this time around. All public places have edict signs on entrance doors, but I haven’t seen any enforcement like before. A lot of peeps are ignoring it. Example in grocery store this morning, young guy putting out meat - no mask. I think a lot of businesses simply put up the signs just to cover themselves legally. I know a Mom & Pop I frequent does. I always wear a mask there out of respect because they do. I forgot the other day, apologized & went to go back to car to get mask. Lady said don’t worry about it - they just put up sign because they have to. Still see a few peeps wearing masks in car while driving. Cracks me up. It does seem most of our black residents always wear masks. We also have a tent set up in a large church parking lot for the mono whatever treatments everyone is raising such a stink about - the Biden-rationed stuff Florida & Texas are purchasing themselves. (Too lazy to look up the name)
Enough. NO masks, NO vaccines, NO mandates.
Oh OK, it’s just day 540 whatever of “15 days to flatten the curve”.
Just as scientific as anthropogenic global warming and Lysenkoism.
