Former President Donald Trump warned GOP gubernatorial nominee Glenn Youngkin on Thursday that he needs to fully embrace Trump’s “MAGA movement” in order to beat Democrat Terry McAuliffe on Nov. 2.
Trump said Thursday in an interview with conservative radio host John Fredericks, a former top Virginia campaign official for Trump, that he thinks Youngkin can win, but he issued a caveat.
After again raising unfounded doubts about the integrity of Virginia’s elections, Trump said: “The only guys that win are the guys that embrace the MAGA movement.”
He added: “When they try and go down a railroad track: You know, ‘Hey, oh yeah, sure, love it, love it. Oh yeah, love Trump, love Trump, OK, let’s go, next subject,’ When they do that ... they never win. They never win. They have to embrace it.”
The Youngkin campaign did not issue a comment Thursday night.
Also Thursday, Trump issued a statement underscoring that Youngkin received stronger support than McAuliffe among likely voters in a poll released Wednesday by the University of Mary Washington.
“Terry McAuliffe was a badly failed Governor — owned by Crooked Hillary,” Trump said in the statement.

Sounds like a RINO who wants to get elected via the gravy train. But no worries; the vote counters and machines will keep him out if the Uniparty wants him kept out.
He has to if he’s to have any hope of winning here. Much as we’d prefer the MAGA approach, that simply doesn’t bring in enough votes in VA.
Last I checked he’s pretty much a pro Trump guy even if he has a few disagreements with him… this is a rare time I wish Donald wouldn’t do this this is a race that is extremely close and very winnable and all Donald’s doing is creating a straw man if the guy doesn’t win

Agree, people are pissed at Biden, Trump shouldn’t do anything to take people’s attention off that, particularly in NOVA. By wading in, Trump is just reinforcing McAwful’s stupid ads. Youngkin just needs 40% in NOVA, he’s around 39% now.
Is it possible for Trump to keep a low profile?
McAlliffe is making Youngkin’s Trump connection clear in every ad he runs, and he runs plenty of them. Youngkin doesn’t need to do anything in that department. Sadly, however, while Youngkin will get more actual votes, he has little chance of winning. Fairfax, Loudoun, and Prince William Counties will manufacture enough fraudulent votes in my opinion to assure McAliffe’s victory. Just watch, it’s the same every election: Youngkin will pile up massive leads everywhere, including Northern Virginia. Then in the middle of the night, the Democrat candidate will gain huge numbers of votes, there, especially in Fairfax. The last time, it was a thumb drive suddenly discovered at 3 am in the morning which helped put Biden over the top.

Speaking as a fellow Virginian, he's wrong about that.
I will say that Gillespie couldn't have been a less inspiring candidate. He was a retread RINO with no fire or personality. Nobody was enthusiastic about his candidacy. If the Republican party had given Ken Cuccinelli, an unapologetic conservative, more than lukewarm support in his gubernatorial run against McAwful in 2013 he would have won. That's when I really learned to never send money to the Republican party and to send only to the candidates that I like.
I am actually involved with this. They are trying. Unfortunately, the Democrat-controlled legislature has enacted rules that make it very easy for Democrats to cheat.
We are desperately trying to recruit Republican poll watchers in every voting location every day from now until election day. If you live in Virginia and want to do something other than complain, call the Republican Committee in your county and ask how to become a poll watcher.

Why do people repeat this stuff without actually looking at the votes?
It is very, very easy to see what happened in Virginia if you bother to just take a look at the precinct reports.
Trump won the machine precincts going away in Virginia. He “won” precincts that never vote for Democrats. (Look at the Ivy Precinct in fast growing Albemarle County).

You will be able to examine the county/precinct level results. Go to Albemarle and look at the IVY precinct.
It shows that Trump “won” that precinct 49-47. Republicans never won that precinct. It’s in ultra liberal Albemarle County near Charlottesville and UVA.
John Frickin Kerry won this precinct in 2004 with 53% of the vote when Bush was carrying Virginia by 10 points. That’s how liberal this area is.
Now, notice the vote totals for the precinct. Only 1018 voters. In 2004 this precinct had over 2300 voters.
Do you believe that 1300 voters disappeared between 2004 and 2020? In a fast population growth area?
Nope. Not possible.
Now look at the central absentee precinct. OVER 43000 votes. Most of those were mail in votes.
In 2004 the absentee precinct had only 3300 votes.
Libtards voted by mail. The mail in ballots in Virginia weren’t allowed to opened and processed until election night. The Lynchburg voter registrar got her hand slapped for trying to start earlier.
So what you have on election night is the machine totals come in first showing this massive landslide for Trump and he is winning precincts that no Republican ever wins. However, a close look at the precinct data shows a lot of missing voters. Those are the mail in ballots.
The they get opened and counted and the mail in ballots start to get posted. The mail in vote everywhere was massively slanted left. THAT is how you get massive vote spikes on a graph. As these mail in ballots are fed into the system (77% of the Albemarle absentees went to Biden) you see the “lead” evaporate.
Far too many people are fixated on machines when the real problem was the mail in ballots.

I live in PA and have been a poll watcher since the late 90s and caught the local demonRATs having my dead MOTHER voting in two elections.
It took 5 years for me to get her name removed from the voting book, and not one person was indicted.
The DA was a demonRAT and my reps were both demonRATs at that time.
Trying to fix this crooked system is like pissing up a wet rope {in a down draft}.
Here in VA, liberal groups based in DC mail out millions of ballot applications to addresses shown on the voter roles. Our fraud people are convinced that when applications come back to them as not deliverable, ballots for those people are requested and then voted Democrat.
